I don't think especially with youtube anyone needs a personal trainer...Now if you are an athlete or want to become a pro bodybuilder/power lifter etc I could see using a coach but just a regular cat who wants to become healthier just look at the content on youtube. Most trainers don't know how to get a person In shape and also don't let someone be your trainer just because they look good...They may have won the genetic lottery, be on juice, potentially know what they are doing...But more so their whole hustle is for you to not actually get into shape because if you do get in shape what do you need them for? Most trainers I've seen can't legit program a 4-8 week workout plan that makes sense or a nutritional plan.

What weight should I start with for all these ?

Start light enough so that you can compete the total amount of volume planned for that day. And continue to add anywhere from 2.5-10 pounds a week to the different exercises or an additonal set at the same weight. Always progress either weight wise or rep/set wise..

When i first got into the gym life I was completely lost. I was doing random workouts online with no true direction. I got a trainer for 6 months. It helped me develop some consistency and help master my form for lifting. Also the cardio sessions pushed way hard then I would ever push myself.

If you have the money to blow and can get a Trainer that knows their shyt, i don't see a problem with it. Every ones motivations and goals are different though. I understand why some people think their unnecessary.

Honestly in this day and age where so much fitness info in YouTube and online, I don’t understand why people use fitness trainers. When I started I was also lost but I learned everything about fitness, diet, form etc on YouTube and even now I’m still learning.

Most people don’t want to do that work. It’s just like picking up dinner versus cooking at home.

I don’t disagree with being able to obtain the knowledge yourself however.

Because A real person that you are paying can hold you accountable which is what a lot people need

I’ve done a 180 on this subject from my old post in here. Having someone to coach you and setting standards for you to meet is invaluable

even acquiring a ton of knowledge myself, i was in the best shape of my life for the 2 years i was with my trainer Kellie. thing is, you gotta find a good trainer. the way she progressed my training, she was very intentional about her programming, she pushed me both to go harder, do shyt i just wouldn't do on my own - such as hill sprints, stairs, 100 sit ups straight, burpees after every set, etc, as well as complete everything as laid out, no bytching out on the last rep or set, etc. plus paying for her provided the extra motivation to make sure my nutrition was on point.

i definitely think you can get results on your own - i've done it before, but i've also gotten crazy results with a PT. no point of knocking them, even professional athletes with decades of training under their belt still train with trainers, there's clearly a value the good ones provide.
