I know 2 black people personally who have lost opportunities so far that I know of. It seems like the "both sides" narrative that they are deploying right now is that DEI and affirmative action also benefited non-black people, therefore we should not care that the current administration is canceling all diversity efforts and doing things like making it impossible to sue for workplace discrimination.

We said that the bothside would be silent until they were handed a script to read here.

That script gives them an out and a way to save face after being proven wrong by Trump's first week actions, and the domino effect of Conservative majority Supreme Court overturning Affirmative Action.

It's a deflection to run from Trump actively demonstrating that both sides are not the same.

I think it depends more on the establishment, board members and how they define the term (everyone right now has their own definition of the term which is why there’s a lot of confusion)

Like I’m at a cross roads because if black ppl don’t benefit from it, does it really matter if we stop supporting at certain businesses? Are we doing this for US? Or is this more so for other groups? (Ex. Protesting / social media activist)

I don't like the fact that Trump is getting rid of diversity initiatives. I also don't like the near trillion dollars of black wealth lost during the Biden administration (white folks on the other hand gained trillions). Hence I'm both sides.

This thread was made because people (like yourself and OP) legitimately don't understand how posters are arriving to a bothsides position.
