They can't do a cruiserweight title because literally 90% of their roster would have to be in it. When Billy Gunn looks like a giant in your battle royales.....:patrice:

They could do a secondary tag title instead of all these thrown together 6 man tag matches.

I disagree with the idea of adding titles to make the matches have meaning. If that’s the problem then the real issue is the creative isn’t good enough. Titles are just props and while it may help a little...it’s like putting a bandaid on a gash because eventually we won’t care about the title matches

the roster is over-crowded.

you can have the best booking in the world, and youre still gonna need more titles for this roster. especially the tag division.

I agree with the overcrowded roster. But if that Young Bucks/ Jurassic Express match would’ve been for the TNT Tag Titles, how much more would we have cared about it :ld:

See I disagree because titles in wrestling are good for segmentation of a roster.

There are some guys who will never be considered world title prospects but who are still good wrestlers, so if you create a division where those guys can actually be wrestling for a purpose it adds to the product and also gives creative a focus on what to do with certain people.

if they do a six man title it needs to be taken very seriously.

it doesn't work for me as a secondary tag title like in NJPW.

i wouldn't be mad if they did a yearly trios tourney though. jack it since chikara is out of business now.

Somebody used to have the United States or North American tag titles...maybe AWA or NwA.
It was NWA/WCW

In AEWs case more titles are a good thing. You have a roster most people are not familiar with so titles could serve to get people over.

AEW Dark for example should have a title defended there regularly

Absolutely not.

Make it a Trios Cup and create an annual tournament around it that ends at a PPV.

That way, you can have any and all trios storylines build for months leading into the tournament and create a March Madness energy for that period and then quickly dissolve teams into individual storylines that were built during the tournament.

No need for defenses, just a whole lotta gang shyt.

Right, I’m not against the Heavyweight-Midcard-Tag team title structure. I think it’s the perfect way to do it. My comment was more of a general statement about creating titles for the sake of and how I feel they’ve become a crutch for lazy booking the past few years
