Should AEW Bring In The Trios Titles Or A Secondary Tag Team Championship??

should they bring in a secondary set of tag team titles, like when the NWA/WCW had the U.S. tag belts??

or should they bring back the 6-man tag team/TRIOS tag team titles??

nah.. I've never seen trios belts matter past the first few months in an American promotion and even the NJPW belts are whatever..

Just continue to build a dope tag division and stop with all the random 6 and 8-man tags.

If they have to add another belt (a big IF), it should be a Cruiserweight belt. But one tag title is enough.

Hard No. Professional Wrestling right now isn't in a good industry. It's stagnant with so many factors going on at the moment. Keep it simple. Just have 4 belts.

In the Late 90's when Business was booming, WCW Crusierweight Title was a hot property along with the WWF Hardcore Title. Even for a moment the WWF European Championship had some prestige to it.

Right now people are just interested more in a solid product.

theres way too many teams. they could do a 16-team tourney with no make-shift combos.

and most importantly, you gotta keep the wrestlers happy. when contracts expire, why would an under-utilized team re-sign when they could go to the WWE, which has 3 tag divisions and a bigger platform?? or go to another league - like anderson & gallows did by jumping to Impact.

AEW needs a Trios belt and a Cruiserweight title to be perfectly honest.

If I have to be fed a steady stream of 6/8/12 man matches at the very least introducing the Trios title would make them matter besides just being a way to include as many people on a show as you can per week.

And there are a shyt ton of really petite dudes in AEW who could benefit from a Cruiserweight or X-Division type belt. Some of those guys are really talented (and not just obnoxious little people like Marko Stunt) who are lost in the shuffle.

Current wrestling (regardless of the company) tends to have serious issues writing storylines that aren't focused around a title so creating titles that actually fit the people on the roster would be a smart move on AEW's part.

I did.. the titles meant something when L.O.D./Dusty had them but other than that it seems like they went away quick. I remember watching the Freebirds had them or something later on when they was brought back but again they weren't defended on many PPVs or anything

they have a potential GOAT tag division on paper, but its hard to get invested in a ton of matches that mean absolutely nothing. the rankings system doesnt even mean much cuz its just a top 5, when they have like 20 teams.

i also get the feeling that alot of these teams are half-assing in the ring because of it.
outside of the breakthrough teams like private party, the dark order teams and jurassic express, it feels like the higher-profiled tandems just mail it in if its not involving the belts.

and yea, they have alot of smaller wrestlers who aint doing nothing.
and then they have the ones that could really use that belt as a stepping stone to bigger things like darby allen, orange cassidy, ricky starks, etc.

AEW doesnt have much going on.
not many belts, and they usually put their belts on the wrong people.

i voted Trios since they have alot of stables.

and it kills two birds with one stone. you can put the strap on a singles guy and a team all at once.
maybe even sneak a broad in there......or a "broad" like nyla rose.

I think it would work. They have a lot of tag teams so it would give them something else to do if they aren't the champs. There's already a good amount of trios that are together already. Off the top of my head they've got SCU, Dark Order, Best Friends with OC, Death Triangle, Jurassic Express, can throw in some combination of the Inner Circle, etc

I think it would work. They have a lot of tag teams so it would give them something else to do if they aren't the champs. There's already a good amount of trios that are together already. Off the top of my head they've got SCU, Dark Order, Best Friends with OC, Death Triangle, Jurassic Express, can throw in some combination of the Inner Circle, etc

They seemed to be on their way to introducing a Trios belt before COVID happened. From the way things were going, I'm guessing Death Triangle and Best Friends would have been the two teams vying for it.
