Just got this recommendation from Youtube and went



This is set during the period called "Warring-States" were a bunch of people were trying to unify Japan.

Sadly it looks like we have to have the "westerner learns about what's going on and falls in love" outsider point of view, but I wonder if they pull off both the palace intrigue fukkery and all the warring of that period.

Off the trailer I gotta give it at least 3 episodes once it premieres

I highly recommend the book by James Clavell.

The original miniseries from the 70s/80s also called Shogun was dope too.

Edit: The FX version looks like they added some kickass women. We'll see how it goes.

I would've agreed with you before they canceled Winning Time after season two, handed Warrior off to Netflix and then fumbled the ending of Night Country

Just off the first two episodes I already feel like this is the strongest show out of Tokyo Vice and House Of Ninjas. Had my attention 100%.

Been missing this kind of intrigue. Japanese Ashur Yabushige is already my favorite
