Main Cast Introductions
Hey! It's Corey Marshall! Without Corey, our English speaking Ryo just would not come to life. Corey was set to play Ryo when the project started back in 2015. It did take a quite a while to get into the studio and start recording the English voices, but Corey was full on ready to give a great performance, so expect the best!
Playing our heroine in Shenmue III is Brianna Knickerbocker! Yu-san selected from a number of candidates through audio auditions only, and Brianna stunned with her great performance reel. Finally meeting at the studio, she stunned us again with her beauty. Brianna has acted in a dizzying array of games and animated features, so we will all be looking forward to her portrayal of Shenhua!

Last year Yu Suzuki and Sound Director Takayuki Nakamura went to the studio in L.A. for the English voice recording jump off.

Hope everyone enjoyed that! There was so much great back and forth on the Shenmue concept and technical aspects between Corey, Brianna, all the voice actors and the recording staff from Lionbridge Gaming in charge of the English voicing, making it a truly meaningful chapter in the journey!

Following last year’s participation in the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC), Director Yu Suzuki will once again be attending this year’s event in Monaco held Saturday, March 9th!
The press conference for the event took place February 7th as many of you may have already seen, but for those of you who haven’t, please read on!
MAGIC is presented by Shibuya Productions and their CEO, Cédric Biscay, a co-producer of Shenmue III. The event which is five years running hosts “conferences and round tables with famous international authors, game designers, producers, writers and illustrators”, as well as gaming, manga and cosplay contests.
As this is MAGIC’s 5th Year Anniversary, there are a variety of events planned for the occasion. And of course the latest Shenmue III news will be unveiled! A special MAGIC ✕ Shenmue III T-shirt will be available for the event, so be sure to follow along at the official MAGIC site and Twitter for more information.

Shenmue III latest trailer finally shows off some gameplay and fully voiced cutscenes
Shenmue III released the latest trailer that debuted at MAGIC 2019 event. The trailer finally shows off fully voice acted cutscenes, mocapped faces and a tiny bit of the combat gameplay. I have to say, the way this trailer was directed was very close to the originals but I’m still not sold on the face models they are using for this game. The trailer also gives us a very small glimpse at the new fighting mechanics, they look pretty engaging in the trailer and just hope its as engaging when your actually playing.
Outside of that its a lot of mystery still on how Shenmue III‘s open world will work, how the mini-games will play like and a lot more. I guess it should be a interesting few months considering that Shenmue III launches on August 27, 2019. Whats your thoughts on the new Shenmue III trailer?

Going to take off my nostalgia goggles and speak freely, personally I think this looks like shyt and not like a $60 game. I will pick it up at some point when it goes on sale.

I don't want to be negative and shyt on this game out the gate but I'm cool with more delays if they do this right
The OG Shenmue art style actually aged decently because it had a realistic design to the characters. This looks like modem morning cartoons IMO

Shenmue 3 pre-order page up on Amazon
Its crazy that Shenmue II released on September 6, 2001 for the SEGA Dreamcast. Ever since then, fans have been begging SEGA for a 3rd entry and now, almost 20 years later we have an Amazon pre-order page. I used to tell people Shenmue III would never happen and now I get to eat crow.
The only thing I would complain about is that Deep Silver and YSNet are going to charge full price for a game that was basically kickstarted by fans? I’m OK with them charging what they want, but personally think it should have launched at a reasonable price of $39.99.
