Batman was Adam west at that point.
Mike jack could not risk that.
It worked out for prince because the joker was there.

Prince could have done batman and if it was bad could have survived. Michael Jackson would have suffered undue scrutiny. As well as the social disputes that arose last time.
Michael did a top draw style feature with another headliner.

Well if it was Mike and Prince together I doubt it would have flopped but creatively Michael and Prince were like oil and water, their styles would have never meshed well over the course of an entire project.

They weren’t homies behind the scenes, they had a healthy respect for one another but it was always twinged with competition as well.
