Sheek has ALWAYS been my favorite member ever since Benji's. Sheek is the one that makes the group stand out He has a combination of energy and wittiness plus he makes the hardest tracks. "Higher than a muhfukka...you aint wit her no more I might have to fukk her! I'm sorry in the morning nikka" :dead:

plus he just say shyt that we can relate to. "cheese doodles, ramen noodles, toaster struedels, I'm high, a nikka bout to make pancakes" :mjlol: "butter roll and barbecue chips, that was dinner, wasnt worried bout no bloods n no crips"

A valuable lesson to be learnt from Sheek and Jim Jones, everyone can have their time eventually :wow:
Real truth here. Patience pays off.

Samuel Jackson didn't make break through as an actor until he was into his 40's.

Also, Sheek's arguably been the most consistent member in terms of his albums. @BronxBomber mentioned that he gets more burn, and honestly even if you look at the 1st two albums from each member, Sheek easily has the most consistent 1st two albums of the group. Jadakiss and Styles may have had higher highpoints on their albums, but their misses were bigger misses.

And lastly, I think there's a good argument that Sheek could be the best member in a lot of other groups. Like, he's STILL talked about as being crazy dope and he was flanked on both side by 2 of the greatest New York emcees of all time. Jadakiss is arguably the best rapper to never have a classic album, and a lot of people think Styles is better than Jada. :manny:

My biggest problem with this project is the name. I think way more people would listen if it wasn't a Part 4 in a series most heads haven't even listened to.

I fukkin' hate numbered album titles. The only time I don't mind it is when it's truly a sequel and has similar themes and production. And especially once you get to 3?:mjtf: If you make beyond part 3, just call it something else.

I’m all for giving Sheek his props as he still sounds the closest to how he did in the 90s flow wise, but let’s not get carried away about him having a better catalog than Styles lol. After Taxes is definitely Sheek’s best album even though it still has some filler on it, but he also has some VERY bad albums after After Texas. Styles most definitely is the best LOX member and pretty much has been since Gangster and A Gentleman.

I think Styles has a better catalogue but I just meant I think as far as 1st two albums go, I thought Sheek’s were more consistent. Gangster and a Gentleman has classssicccc material on it, but it had a crazy bloated run time (I think it was like 25 songs) and there was a lot of filler. Styles’ second and third albums might be my favorite 2 solo albums in the Lox discography though.

Styles isnt better than Jada. Jada is so cold as a lyricist. His albums just dont do it for me because seems like he tried to hit chase or use a lot of the same old patters/styles and not much innovation. Styles was my least favorite member for years because he lacked the energy of Sheek and the sharp lyrics of Jada so he was really boring to me. He gained my respect in the past 4 years or so on his indy grind. He is prolific and lyrically has the substance you want. He feeds a wide audience of fans whether he is on some black power shyt or his stoner shyt. its a weird dynamic. Jada the most talented but albums just not impressive or prolific. Styles lacks both of the other's charisma but you cant outwork him. Speaking of which, cant wait til Beloved 2 comes out. Styles gave Dave East one of his best if not best projects. Sheek is the least prominent but as I said, he make the best songs whether hard or smooth. Plus he has been the standout on most of the LOX projects, especially in the past 10 years. I wore After Taxes out.

Sheek the glue of the group and my fav. Not many rappers period have a discography as good as Styles...much less fellow LOX. Sheek biggest mistake was that bullshyt he put out on Def Jam. Again....Styles also has been better on his indy run. As an indy you have more creative freedom and you can drop when you want instead of getting shelved. After the Def Jam stint, Sheek dropped nothing but heat. Which hasnt been that much volume wise, but 4 Beast Modes and Gorillaween have all been solid at worst.

never understood this logic either. seems lazy af. if you notice, Black Thought did the same thing. Ransom too...even though I can understand Ransom reasoning a little better but on all of the releases the first two were EP's and the third was album length. I think the album length one should be treated as separate from the previous two in the series.

I might quote a couple posts because this is good discussion. Daps/reps/

I won't argue that peak Jadakiss is better than peak Styles. I'm kind of a weirdo and I have a producer ear. What I mean is I usually listen for bars almost last. I'm usually more interested and intrigued by how someone's voice sounds over the production, and how they ride the beat, etc. The Life by Styles for example is damn near a perfect song. I'll take The Life over Why by Jadakiss. I think it's more nuanced and less beating you over the head with the message.

I'm not trying to pick everything apart to death, but I think Styles is a better songwriter, and Jadakiss is a better emcee. Does that make sense or am I saying some smart-dumb shyt? :heh:

I don't even think I heard what he put out on Def Jam? Was it bad?

Also, out of their 3 early mixtapes (Ghost in the Shell, Champ Is Here, and Year of the Wolf) I think Wolf was MAD slept on. BTW I didn't even realize that Styles P had such a stoner lane until you said it. He's been on a lot of smoked out joints now that I think of it. :ohhh:
