I liked the show overall, but I did walk away disappointed. I'm still open to them doing a season 2 if they can improve some things. But for me it was mid, all over the place, and the writers and director didn't know what they wanted to do, but they wanted to do everything. They knew they wanted to address what women go through. Which I'm down for, but I just don't think they did that very well. If I compare another absurd, comedic comic book show, it would be Peacemaker. Now one is TV-MA and the other is trying to straddle that line because it's on Disney+. And one also obviously had a better budget and time to play with. But one has way more heart and you walk away with a character who has grown, and you understand why they were they way they were. With She-Hulk it just all felt very surface level. I also liked every other character but the main one. And that's not anything against Tatiana Maslany.

I see the peacemaker comparison and agree with the heart and growth factor but as the closest thing you could probably compare it to, they are still very different charcters/shows/comics. Some people are saying the show took itself too serious, some not serious enough. Some of the things that make Peacemaker dope, the intimacy, the drama in certain parts, wouldn't fit She-Hulk as a character at all.

Jen and Matt's relationship kinda encapulsates what the vibe should be, fun, flirty, silly and surface level to a degree as a means to take the piss out of Marvel and it's fans.

I think for a season 2, you can add a little more heart via the courtroom but it should stay true to the character.

I started watching this on a flight home yesterday and made it to episode 6.

I like it. Reminds me of Harvey bird man, attorney at law, somewhat.

CGI is cartoony at times tho. Lol @ her having capt america ass as her background photo.

I look forward to Jen's commentary about the CGI when it improves lol

Fam that's funny af. I think She-Hulk has hella potential in the MCU. I think the writing staff could have done a better job executing their ideas, however. The ideas they had were pretty good, but sometimes they felt a bit off. Addressing the haters of the show had potential, but it felt like they didn't really want to commit to it. They just wanted to do hit and run type jabs.

I'm not sure exactly who is on the writing crew, but I would suggest they hire a comedian, like a funny one. Chappelle or Bill Burr or whatever female equivalent level to help them with comedic timing and all that. The 4th wall breaks were kinda iffy at times, successful at others.

If executed well, She-Hulk should be the most popular female character in the MCU. Even though I would rate this average-slightly above average it has a lot of potential for season 2.

Sidenote: Can't believe dudes were complaining about seeing Megan and She-Hulk twerking. If anything my complaint is that too many clothes were being worn during the scene

Def places they can improve but I enjoyed the show, though I wish I had waited and binged. Letting these eps marinate for a week for discussion did it no favors.

Def gotta keep it female centric, maybe tap some writers from something like Broad City or similar shows. As for her being the most popular...I could see that if the MCU fandom didn't take itself so serious. But if the plan was for her to take jabs at the fans and the front office like the comics she was going to catch some unwarrented hate.

Exactly, which is why I want a S2. Dudes don't get it, women will get half naked and shake their ass for other women. That WAP video with cardi and Megan wasn't for men lol

Now how much can she really do pin ups or something more for men on Disney +, I dunno, but we should at least try :mjlit:
