If Sony did day and date with PC, I would legit invest in a gaming pc beyond my gaming laptop.
there’d be no reason FOR ME to buy a Sony console.
there’d be no reason FOR ME to buy a Sony console.
So you think people who bought spiderman didn’t give a fukk about GOW, and people who bought uncharted don’t give a fukk about TLOU?? Horizon buyers scoffed at GOT??i could understand this line of thinking if sony only had one exclusive.
Yes some exclusives push consoles. Most don’t. And lots of them get arbitrary sales just by being bundled with the hardware. You literally can’t buy PlayStation hardware without one of those games attached. Those 120 million ps4 owners bought a PlayStation if not for god of war, bought it for spider-man or uncharted, or horizon, or ghost of tsushima. Etc, they also buy it because thats what their friends play on, and their friends probably bought it for one of those games
Exclusives do sell consoles. That doesn’t mean god of war sold 120 million ps4’s
Sony is trying to sell consoles. All their business flows through that. If they toss years old console exclusive games that have sold through all they will on consoles then that doesn't impact that. Day and date games means less people need to buy PlayStations. It isn't in their best interest to do that so it won't happen.Y’all said Sony games would never happen on PC period.
Fact is PC and console are two increasingly different markets.
The entire gaming market is moving away from exclusive content.
Sony may be one of the last holdouts but eventually they gotta do what’s best for the bottom line.
They will probably hold their biggest titles to an exclusive console period, but ultimately if a game isn’t selling consoles it’s better off being released on as many platforms as possible.
Yes, and for most games holding an exclusivity period won’t increase console sales.Sony is trying to sell consoles. All their business flows through that. In reality that’s all the same market. It stands to reason buyers overlap between these titles. Even if we say overlap is low and double the sales the 40 million individuals, the majority of PS4 owners don’t give a fukk about these titles.
Not completely and most of those you named are not PlayStation exclusives. Its not all the same market, because its not just those games, its games like Final Fantasy XIV, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and niche titles like 13 Sentinels, Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, Last Guardian, those are not the same people buying Spider-Man, not completely.
neither of them actually make money off selling consoles. They make money of software and services. The Exclusive games exist to get you entangled in their ecosystem. On the Sony side the console is still the focus on how to get people there but ultimately they wanna make money off software. Some games fit the bill as console sellers. Some don’tThe point is that exclusive software sells consoles and if it didn’t microsoft and sony wouldn’t specifically go on record saying they are allocating billions of dollars into developing 1st party software.

Any way you look at the numbers “exclusives” aren’t as big a draw as you Sony stans like to pretend.
A couple of them get a big following and push console sales. Most don’t.

No. I’m saying the smaller games are not system sellers.Gotta be honest, I don’t really understand your argument. You’re saying that only 20 million people bought GoW, or Spider-man therefore they aren’t system sellers, we can make that argument for literally any game ever considered a system seller.

No their profit driver is software and services. Even if they are not “losing” money on hardware. That’s not where they are making most of their money. The hardware is the vehicle for software and services.Ionno about M$ side, but Sony only loses money initially on their console sales. They're already profiting off of console says now and have been for some months now.

No. It’s not.Or…. It’s both.

There's no reason to own one now, Sony exclusives are few and far between
and there's enough games where you can wait for the release of the PC version, especially since PC has the entire gaming library of gaming history on it
Sony fanboys are the worst stans in gaming history
Nobody cared that Sonic the Hedgehog was on PC when they had Sega Genesis
Nobody cared Final Fantasy VII was on PC when they had PS1
Console is an entirely different market than PC, there's no reason to hold back the date, because console players only want to play console anyway, so as long as it's not on Xbox and Nintendo, their not helping their competitors the PC platform isn't a console it's not in competition with the ps5
OpinionsYall enjoy I’m out
