If you watch the video what he's saying isn't that bad.

You don't want children growing up thinking that thinking that Daddy or mommy's money will always be there. Rick Ross did the same thing for his son's 16th birthday. instead of getting him some fancy car, he gifted him his own Wing Stop franchise.

Shaq wants his children to get an education, come up with a business plan, and then he said he'd invest in it. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this whatsoever

he also said he would invest in their companies if they presented him with a real business opportunity that they have really worked on and did the leg work for.
It would be nothing for one of his kids to get a 4 year business degree then open a chain of carwashes or some shyt and have daddy pay for it, then boom turn key business
Exactly. All hes saying is hes not just gonna throw em money to sit on their ass and live it up like bums. Hes gonna give em the tools, resources and opportunities to make something of themselves other than simply being Shaqs kids

Why have kids if you’re not gonna take care of them? At least hand them over a business so they can at least make a name for themselves. I never got this logic of making your kids suffer in this screwed up world.
I'm pretty sure his kids have been taken care of and will be just fine. :russ:

Raise your kids in luxury for 18 years then tell them they on their own financially brehs

Imagine he paid for their school at least and that's a big help this day and age. Graduating with no debt and a $60k job lined up is winning.

So while they not getting a piece of his millions, fukk it. :yeshrug:

Sure fire way of ruining your kids as a rich person is cultivating a sense of entitlement. You will learn that you can never give them enough.
I’m happy it only took 3 posts for a Matt appearance

how is this not like the epitome of good parenting from a rich black dad? Shaq wants his kids to produce things in life in a beautifully non capitalist growth way and I know it’s gonna be 150 posts of hate

So Im gonna tell u guys how old money... talkin 6-5 generations deep in wealth... keep their shyt together

Right down 2-3rd generation u're gonna need to make ur family business or whatever cash cow u got corporate, which basically means descendants of ur bloodline will receive their respective percentages of profits from the family business (or holding if u have lots of businesses) but will only be able to participate in it if they meet certain criteria:

- reach certain age (usually older than 30)
- Obtain certain degree (usually an MBA from a top school)
- etc...

Of course family members will have representation on the BoD, but only top rated professionals will be at the helm of your family business.

RIght now most of these structures are called family offices, which is an evolution from statutes guiding the future of a family's wealth.... as these family offices basically reinvest the profits from the family business and also manage budgets for the family members

Now this the type of shyt a nikka like SHaq gotta do, not shyt on his kids in public to toughen them up

I understand Shaq's mentality - but it does make family dynamic hard. Those kids grew up and probably got whatever they wanted and were entitled from the outset. Its hard to get older and have that change. They won't understand but he is trying to instill the ability to survive on their own without him for their own betterment.

I agree with you but if Shaq ever gifted me with the papa John's franchise, I'd smack the shyt outta him and change my last name.

If I ever come into millions my kids won't ever think they're coming from a wealthy family. Theyll know we're doing okay, but they won't be getting audis and BMWs for their sixteenth birthday or going on expensive resort vacations every year. They gon think they're middle class until I pass away and they realize there's a family trust. By then ya boy will hopefully be so old that they'll be retired too :lolbron:

I feel like it’s foul to raise your kids in a 10 Bedroom Mansion for two decades then tell them to get it out the mud after that. You ruined them for life. I wouldn’t just hand them money. They’d be expected to go to college, become successful (e.g. finance, law, medical school, engineering, business owner, etc.), I’d try to help guide them into lucrative positions and most of the money I directly gave them would be tied up in trusts so they couldn’t fukk it up and blow it all but they’d definitely get money from me.
