I know offset language is the norm going from coaching job to coaching job but this is the first I've heard it being going from coaching to media.I can't remember where the original source came from, but it was a reddit chain that linked insiders talking about it when it was first brought about their interest in him. They noted that one of the main reasons ESPN wanted Doc was because Philly was still going to owe the bulk of his contract.
Offset language is the norm in the sports world as I remember reading years ago that even Rex Ryan wasn't able to double dip when he first went to ESPN after getting fired. That's why it was insane that Jimbo Fisher had the clause in his contract because that's not the norm at all.

I found this but the use of offset implies that he won't be asking for as much because he is being paid what 76ers owe him not that he's being paid less by 76ers because of what ESPN is paying him.
