Personally, I think Shannon takes alot of things too personal, and it showed alot on air. That news break on Skip trying to go back with Stephen A should have never bothered Shannon, that's business. That to me is what boiled over to the Damar Hamlin situation, because Shannon was still harboring resentment from that

Those things may have been the immediate cause but Skip's (not so) subtle disrespect was just constant and increasing slowly over time.

His 'Mmmm's dismissing Shannon's points while he was talking, him downplaying Shannon's status as a player to big up Tom Brady, constantly asking if Shannon was done yet suggesting Shannon talked for 10 minutes only two minutes into his take, yelling My turn! aggressively like a petulant child and then pretending it was a cute catchphrase that he stuck with, gaslighting him when Skip's takes turned out wrong (Baker Mayfield etc.)

I'm honestly amazed that Shannon held it together for as long as he did.

He downplayed Shannon's accomplishes as if they were nothing while he never scored more than 1.4 ppg in HS. It would be one thing if Tom Brady said it but who is Skip to say it to him?


Skip would lose his mind if someone shytted on his media legacy and everything he's done before. We've seen him do it before.

ehh, the tape stuff was just for TV. Didnt really seem emotional to me. Now the last minute is pure emotional. Glasses off, voice cracking lol. I want to say Shannon said Skip wouldnt take any more shots like that too iirc and he took it there.

The only Skip argument I didn't agree with was when he went at Chris Broussard back in First Take for his love of Lebron on some "You sold your journalistic soul to cover Lebron". That was uncalled for

But to me the other situations was just people responding horribly to Skip's antics and trolling. Nothing that comes out of Skip's mouth on TV should be believed as fact, but somehow people keep falling for it. At the end of the day, it's a TV show and 98% of the people watching just want to see entertainment, they could care less about co-worker drama

Anyone who paid attention to some of the small details had a feeling Skip got rid of Shannon. As mentioned earlier, the buyout from Fox and Shannon getting club shay shay wouldnt have happened if Shannon wanted out. Then on twitter Shannon stayed liking tweets one of which basically said "Fox are dumb for choosing Skip over Jenny/Shannon". You not liking a tweet like that if it was your decision to leave.

Certainly the buyout is the biggest clue of what happened but it all just went down so abruptly. Undisputed going on a two month hiatus tells you they did not plan for it to end the way it did. A week or maybe two weeks off would've been normal but a 2-month break tells you that Shannon's departure caught them off guard as well.
