A lot of people overlooked it at the time because of the Max/SAS beef, but Skip did go behind Shannon's back to try and pair up with SAS again even after he re-signed with Fox. I said it at the time then their pairing was over because there was no way you could come back from that.

It's why Shannon should treat it like a business decision because they both would rather be with Skip again if they had the choice to do so. SAS likes to conveniently leaves out that he was part of the reason for the Skip/Shannon pairing breaking up and how he knew so much about how they wanted him out.

Unlike SAS, I think that Skip was willing to let the issues go for the time being after the ESPN jump fell through, but the Damar Hamlin situation was the final straw that wanted him off the show. I don't think Skip could fathom the thought of him looking like the villain while Shannon comes off looking like the saint.

I still do think though that if FS1 were to ever let Skip go (they more than likely won't) that SAS and ESPN would welcome him back with open arms even if it meant him taking Shannon's spot on the show.

It's more likely that Fox didn't own Club Shay Shay but had a production/distribution contract. Podcasts change networks all the time.

Also while the podcast is a big deal and a moneymaker for Shannon, it is completely useless to Fox without Shannon attached to it.

Seems the Damar Hamlin situation is what soured Skip on Shannon. Shannon mentioned some behind the scenes stuff like "The bosses obviously felt some type of way about it" and Shannon brought up the tweet in the first place. It seems skip didnt respond well to any of that. He said something like "you werent even suppose to bring the tweet up".

When Shannon left, SAS also covered it on his pod/youtube show. He played the Hamlin clip and said "From know Skip and working with him for years. I knew it was over at that moment".
