That and ppl probably dont like working with skip. Key was fired from ESPN and at home on the couch. Irving, fired from espn after the hotel case popped up. I know sherm was doing the amazon tnf show. So the ppl they got had no other place to go if they wanted to keep doing the debate thing, and in Sherm's case, this may have been his foot in the door opportunity.

O, so that's why McAfee hasnt been on? When Pat moved to ESPN he was on first take every tuesday. I thought he wasnt on because football season was over.

Wait why would there be creative differences? Pat is just a panel guest on the show, they dont run the show together.

Tempers flared in an explosive argument in a recent phone call between two of ESPN’s highest-profile personalities.

The Post has learned that a private conversation several weeks ago between Pat McAfee and Stephen A. Smith got heated, as things escalated to the point where McAfee called Smith a “motherf–ker”.

The dispute arose from creative differences involving a yet-to-be-announced project that Stephen A. Smith is executive producing through his own production company, Mr. SAS Productions, that will ultimately air on ESPN.

The Post heard that in the aftermath of the spat, Smith had banned McAfee from appearing on “First Take”, where he had weekly Tuesday appearances during the football season, in the future.

However, after The Post reached out, both sides indicated that their animosity has been resolved.

McAfee said he wasn’t aware of any ban and Smith insisted there never was one.

An ESPN spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.

“I have nothing but love for Stephen A.,” McAfee told The Post in a text message. “I think I’m still welcome on ‘First Take’? I was scheduled through football season to join on Tuesdays, hopefully next year that’ll happen as well.”

“Pat McAfee and I have no issue and the notion that he’d be banned from ‘First Take’ is B.S,” Smith told The Post in an email.

“We are No.1 and he has absolutely contributed to us remaining No.1. McAfee was asked to come on each Tuesday through the Super Bowl and he did just that, kicking ass each time he came on the air.

That’s what I thought too.

Though after I posted it saw a couple other twitter post pop up stating the same thing so I was confused.

It’s an easy answer because as much as people like to complain about Skip, he has helped give a lot of black athletes and analyst platforms to help become what they are now.

Even people like SAS has given him props before many times about it.

Yep. SAS and Irving. Hell when Deion was doing his rounds this season for the buffs he went out of his way to thank Skip for exactly that.


Stoute just looking at the end result of of "he got black ppl on there", When most the time Skip sorta gave them another chance when the "company" caste them out.
Like I said earlier or in another thread, Key/Irving were let go by ESPN. SAS has gone on record saying Skip fought for him to be on first take iirc. Shannon was fired by CBS.

Thats real talk look aside from skip lebron obsession i have no beef with the guy, he put on a lot of brothers big time and hired alot of black people. He is no racist and was always a bit sympathetic to kapernick as well

I kind of don't like to see Shannon throw dirt on Skip's name, because Skip saved Shannon and got him on Undisputed. And I keep hearing it wasn't exactly Skip that wanted Shannon gone, but Shannon had some static with some of the FS1 producers behind the scenes.
