Embiid has already made it clear numerous times so far that he doesn't care about the MVP award this season.
As long as he's healthy and dominant by playoff time is what matters the most. However whether he acknowledges it or not but at this point the MVP is already his this year and everybody knows it but it's a matter of whether he plays enough games to win is the question but as he said he doesn't care about that this year.
I think if he doesn't play enough games...the next in line to win MVP would be SGA especially if the Thunder who are on pace to win 50+ games hold on to either the #1 or #2 spots in the west by season's end.
Welp....now he only got 5 left to miss before bein ineligible

It would end load management. NBA players care 10x more about All NBA selections than even the NBA all star game. And now that All NBA ties into contracts and how much money you get, not sitting games matters even more
Coincidentally, all but two of Embiid's missed games have come on the road. That includes games at Minnesota, Boston, New Orleans, Miami, Houston, Orlando and now Denver.
Dig a little further and the only teams with winning records Embiid has played on the road is Milwaukee on Opening Night (9-21 for 24 points...), OKC (very small front court), Orlando and Indy.
A lot easier to keep 30 point streaks and averages up when you duck some of the best teams in the league on the road.
