North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
At a time when many believe the star is fading for Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot and rising for Cowboys running back Tony Pollard, the man who writes the checks has a different viewpoint.

Appearing on NFL Network, owner Jerry Jones said that Elliott “has to be the focus” of the team’s running back game. “He has to be the focal point,” Jones said. “There is room for Pollard while Zeke is in there.”

Pollard is expected to play some receiver, lining up in the slot. Still, Pollard was widely viewed as the better option in the running game last year.

Maybe that’s because Elliott was fighting through a knee injury. Regardless, there’s no way the Cowboys would be paying Elliott $12.4 million this year if the salary hadn’t become fully guaranteed in 2021. And there’s no way they’ll pay him $10 million next year unless he has a year on par with his rookie season.

Meanwhile, Pollard may not be thrilled about the plan, as it was articulated by the team’s owner. Pollard enters the final year of his rookie contract, at a mere $969,000 in total pay. The more he does in 2022, the more interest he’ll have on the open market.

A cynic would wonder whether Jones wants to de-emphasize Pollard for that reason alone. Grind up Zeke this year, cut him after the season, and sign Pollard for less than he’d get if had a big season in his contract year.

Damn shame, but I feel so “blah” about this team…

That playoff game last year (the day after my birthday too smh) really told me who this team is and what they about…

It’s just hard for me to get juiced about this season when I can’t stand the QB1…I just feel like Dak is playing exactly like he was drafted, a 4th round pick. Feels like we’ve squeezed as much blood from the rock as we possibly could. I’m so sick of decent to good regular season but you see the fade at the end, then a horrible playoff loss. Sick of this crap.

On another note, my wife got us tickets to the first Cowboys/Redskins game on Oct 2, this’ll be the first time I’ve EVER been to the home field of one of my teams (Cowboys and Hurricanes) I’ve seen both outside of Dallas and Miami but I’ve never been to either of the home stadiums of my teams so I’m extra geeked about that. That’ll be the highlight of my season (I pray that it isn’t tho!!!)

I still have faith that this squad will get it together…we aren’t far away I feel, just need some key pieces and we can be right in the thick of things. It all depends on where Dak goes from here, what kind of QB is he going to be? Have we seen the best days or does he still have a trick up his sleeve (unfortunately, my bet is hedged toward the former)

Cowboy up lol…I’ma try and stay positive tho

My Foundational Black Texans Grandparents got to experience 5 Super Bowls victories and no longer have to witness these abomination years under Dumb & Dumber. :unimpressed:May they rest in peace.

And those CAC elementary students are in their early 40's now. :unimpressed:
Cowboys need to win big soon.

My first memories of the Boys started around age 5 or 6...so 1991/1992. Legit couldn't understand how the Niners beat us in '94 and why Switzer went for 4th & 1 TWICE in Philly territory in '95. The early success locked me in to being a Boys fan.

You got a whole generation of younger Millenials and older Gen Z that don't remember the Jimmy days. The came on right as the Triplets were fading and either rode with the Packers because of Favre or bandwagoned the Rams until the Patriots rose up. Talked to 28, 29 year old coworkers FROM DALLAS that never even thought about being Cowboys fans.

Jerry getting by on the 35+ set, but he doesn't realize you got a generation and a half of NFL fans that have only seen Boys mediocrity. These youngins more loyal to the Mavs and Stars.

As for Dak....the shyt we say about the Cowboys right now, is the same shyt we were saying about them at the end of Aikman's career and through most of Romo's career. Dak needs to be better but people are acting like swapping him out is the only thing holding us back. The only constant since 1996 is Jerry Jones. The issues start there. If we need Quarterback Jesus to overcome Jerry......that's a problem.

Use the Patriots as an example. They won 2 SBs before Brady really became THAT DUDE. He played well but they won as a team until he was good enough to carry them. Burrow played great this season but wasn't that special in the playoffs...but still got to the Bowl. Dak needs to step his game up but championship teams are rarely going to win because the QB balled out all the time. Sometimes you gotta win ugly. A-Aron is maybe the most talented QB in league history...Packers have rarely been "bad" with him there and he has ONE ring.....QB can't do it alone.

So Zeke is a bum now after carrying this offense and being run into the ground the last couple of years :unimpressed:

Dak owes this nikka and Amari atleast 75% of his $160m :unimpressed:
Last year he was trash. Year before he was trash and fumbled more than he ever has.:unimpressed:

Yall nikkas set up here and harp about what Dak did or didn't do 3 games ago but you out here telling me about what a running back did years ago.:unimpressed:

This bum ass nikka doesn't have four 20 yard runs in TWO fukkING YEARS:unimpressed:

Zeke being ran into the ground but Pollard got a 130 touches and Dak top 8 in every passing category :unimpressed:

Willie Wonka fantasy land shyt right here :unimpressed:

Holes all over this team and we paying a habitually out of shape bum 12 million to "pick up the blitz":unimpressed:

Zeke is what...our second highest paid lineman right now :unimpressed:

Zeke was trash last year because he got hurt

First 5 games, he was 4th in the league in rushing and that wasnt just a volume stat because he led everybody in the top-5 in ypc at 5.32. He was also tied for 2nd in touchdowns.

He tore his pcl and wasnt the same.

What was Dak’s excuse to not know how to beat a simple cover-2?

6 years in the league and was befuddled by a fukking cover-2 defense :mjlol:

The lengths u stanleys will go to defend this bum ass nikka that doesnt know the rules (ref has to place the ball) and doesnt know when to fukkin slide :mjlol:

Yall are blaming a Running back that was on a HOF trajectory until an injury plagued season last year instead of blaming a qb making $160m and cant outplay Jimmy G in the playoffs

Cowboys are the most publicized team I. The league. Everybody already knows Pollards needs to be featured more and is the more explosive of our running backs. Playing bum less ain’t going make him less atttactive to spenders next offseason

First 5 games...it's a 17 game season :unimpressed:

He was blah blah blah in YPC...only rushed for over 80 yards once after the 1st month of the season :unimpressed:

Multiple games where he averaged less than 3 ypc :unimpressed:

Dak can't beat a cover 2...he throwing against 7 people in coverage cause every team in the league can handle our 15 million dollar running back with a 4 man front :unimpressed:

Zeke so trash linebackers drop in coverage and this nikka somehow STILL couldn't get 3 yards :unimpressed:

Zeke hurt that is why his production low :unimpressed:

Dak came back from a season ending injury...then hurt his shoulder...then got hurt during the season...but he was still top 8 in damn near every passing category and thats with him missing a game :unimpressed:

Waste of a number 4 pick...Zeke is nothing more than another back that was created up by the Great Wall of Dallas:unimpressed:

Soon as he stopped running behind 3 pro bowlers what he do? Have the two worst years of his career :unimpressed:

The more he plays the more its revealed he was never that good in the first place :unimpressed:

Anybody could run through those holes he had his first two years. He ran mostly behind the line that got Darren McFadden trash ass a 1000 yards :unimpressed:

He was on a HOF trajectory cause he was running behind HOF Tyron, Zach, and Travis...Travis retired, Tyron old, and now this bum is rushing for the same amount of yards as Corey fukking Clement:unimpressed:

Jonathan Taylor getting busy with trash ass Wentz as his QB against 9 man fronts but Zeke can't consistently eek out 50 yards a game after the 1st month of the season playing with a QB who threw 5 touchdown passes...in a half. Tragic:unimpressed:

Zeke aint did shyt in his career but run behind one of the best lines off all time. :unimpressed:

Zeke hasn't had a 30 yard run since Travis retired :unimpressed:

We done paid 27 million guaranteed dollars over the last two years to a running back who don't even have a 27 yard run during that span.:unimpressed:

We got to put an extra guard in the backfield so this trash ass nikka can score on 1st and goal at the 1inch line:unimpressed:

Yes because he was hurt dummy

Washed RBs dont put up those numbers over a course of games dummy

Regardless of that fact, the QB owes everything to him and Coop. He wouldnt have gotten the starting job if it werent for Zeke putting the fear of god in defenses and if Jerry never trades for Coop, we would've been looking for a QB in 18

Zeke never would have had those years without running behind an all time line...cause we see what he look like when he doesn't. He can't even reliably get 60 yards.

If you knew anything about real football...which you don't...you would know just about all of Zeke yards last year was because teams weren't doing anything but trying to stop the pass to start the season. Cause you know...the QB was averaging around 330 yards and 3 touchdowns a game...coming off a season ending injury AND a shoulder injury that kept him out of preseason. That's why Dak was still throwing for 300 and 3 touchdowns in games even when Zeke wasn't even able to get 45 yards, because there is absolutely no part of his game as a QB that is reliant on Zeke whatsoever, where as Zeke can barely get positive yardage if the defense brings anything other than a 4 man front.

You talking about the same Amari Cooper that got traded from the Raiders and it made what difference in Carr's numbers? The same Amari Cooper you can only rely to show up and play at a high level half the season? Somehow Amari made Dak great but Amari two years before playing with Dak nikka aint even catch 50 passes? Let's see what he does this year in Cleveland playing with Mr Fingers in my ass.

When I look at Zeke highlights I see him running 6...9...12 yards before he is even touched. Soon as that stopped we literally had running backs come off the street and run for just as many yards as he did.

But...but...but his injuries...

Yeah Dak came back from one and got 2 during the season and still put up MVP numbers...so what's Zeke excuse?

Was Zeke even really hurt or is that just another one of his excuses for being trash? Cause if I go look and see who had surgery I don't see him. If I go look at an injury report he was never on it. And then his story of "my knee magically got better on its own" is some straight up CTE talk.

Give me the name of another running back who had some debilitating knee injury during the season but was never on the injury report and then in the off season he said it just healed and he is ready to go?

dawg, what are u even talking about :mjlol:

Dak had 188 yards throwing in a game in which Zeke had 143 yards and a 47 yarder (something u claim he cant do)

Call this washed brehs. Dak had 103 yards well into the 3rd quarter “b b but teams was focused on stopping Dak” :dead:

How many times have we heard teams say the focus on stopping the Cowboys offense is stopping Zeke?

U are being ignorant (not surprising) to the fact that he was hurt because it doesnt suit your agenda. runningbacks dont all of a sudden just fall off the map that early in the season because “they are washed”.

And im not even going to get into the fact that Amari saved this nikka career.

Imagine calling this your favorite team and saying you know football and still thinking Amari doesnt save this nikka :dead:

I wont even waste my time bringing up his stats in 2018 before the trade.
