No, the problem is we don't have strong local coalitions who can draw money to grow locally. "Group economics" without cash infusions to our neighborhoods does nothing but leave us selling each other hair and fried chicken. There has to be grassroots collaboration and a proliferation of gainful employment. People care more about politics when they feel they have something to protect. That said, the Democratic party at large works for "everybody" which leaves black people disadvantaged since a big tent spreads itself too thin to help those who need the most help.
And Democrats have been worse for us since unions got bopped by Reagan so they have to chase corporate dollars as well.

Dems should've poked their chests out on the point of being the ones to push the stimulus checks. They never saw it as a serious point to emphasize because they were in denial about these type of people existing in the first place
Trump understood the optics of being the one to "give out checks" which is why he went out of his way to put his name on them
