Ummm, yes, they do.
We don't need millions of younger ppl lthinking it's ok to align themselves with such beliefs. This generation of youngsters are being raised on social media.....so why should her opinions be allowed to be spewed out to milions of kids(who don't know better) who would see her on TV?
See that's where
.
It's not an athlete/celebrity's job to raise your children and instill in them values and beliefs.
Using "the children" as an excuse to censor people is what Republicans used to do when they were trying to ban rap and rock records because of "the children".
If your children are stupid, it's your fault, not WWE, not HIp-Hop, not fukking Marilyn Manson
You may not agree with it, but it's part of working in corporate America today.
And corporate Amerikkka isn't what's wrong with Amerikkka today?
Why you think Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are winning?
Why you think Occupy Wall-Street was going on?
People are sick of corporations dictating to them.
Fukkk them.
Pretty sure Tim Hardaway caught some beats for his commentary, as well as many brothers. It's just that WWE is not a real sports company, but focuses solely on entertainment (yet rarely delivers). Plus, it's also a publicly traded company. If Vince McMahon allows a racist culture to exist and cat a lawsuit that kills your stock price, he could suffer a shareholder revolt and be forced to lose his (or Linda's) Chair status, as well as being forced to sell.
If a player gets caught saying things, their punishment will be tied to their production level, because sports is talent-based and the scarcity of NFL level players makes offenses much more forgiveable. They would probably lose their endorsements or not be resigned once their contract ends, but you can understand the position the owners would be in. Many sports stars have said outrageous things.
So stop with the false equivalency. There is both precidence and reasons why they are different. Many people in those fields are told to speak as if whatever they say could become public. This nut job actually put her opinions far out into the open and helped breed a den of racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and other malignancy.
She should've seen this coming a long time ago, but knew she was small potatoes. When she started her ascent, her wings were clipped lmao.
- Tim Hardaway was retired when he made his comments about gays.
- Vince McMahon's whole company is racist and has always been racist. Michael P.S. Hayes was just calling people ******s a few years ago and just last year Alberto Del Rio was fired because some racist CAC told him to clean the table because he was Hispanic and he slapped the dude.
- And since when are punishments in the NFL/NBA players tied to production? Players get suspended for all kinds of shyt now. You'd better believe that if one of them came out and said some shyt about gays in the post "Michael Sam/Jason Collins" era, they're gonna get suspended and probably forced out of town
Opinions shouldn't have consequences. THATS THE POINT YOUR MISSING.
ACTIONS SHOULD HAVE CONSEQUENCES, NOT OPINIONS.
I don't understand how people who grew up in a world where people were trying to put all our icons (2pac, Ice T, NWA, 2Live Crew) in prison for songs are pro censorship
wasn't 2 Live Crew arrested back in the day for using profanity on stage?
Wasn't NWA taken to task by memberrs of the Supreme Court over their lyrics?
I have no "instant gratification" in this. I just don't want to see somoene on my TV or give my time/money to a person who's CLEARLY, openly and proudly a racist. If I had kids I wouldn't want to take my kids to an autograph signing of such person. Dont see why this is hard to grasp for you breh.
If Walmart said they hated black ppl, would you still shop there....or would u drive a little further down the street to Target?
Um, 2 Live Crew took their case to the Supreme Court . . . AND WON. That's the point we're making. They were found to be within their rights to make their dirty records and not get arrested or harrassed.
One person does not equal an entire company. Riley Cooper of the Philadelphia Eagles said he wanted to fight ******s. 80% of his teammates are/were Black. Should all Black people stop rooting for the Eagles? I don't think so. Riley Cooper's one guy with one opinion. I was glad when one of his teammates beat his ass and am completely happy to root for Black DBs to lay his ass out. I don't need him to be banned from football.
And Walmart is an entire company. Again, there's a difference between a whole company and one person who works at Walmart.
If one idiot who works at Walmart on the cash register said he hates Black people on his facebook, then I just wouldn't talk to that guy. I wouldn't pretend that the whole company shares his views.
