This may sound kind of elitist, but let's be real: most people are basic and dont have shyt going on if they don't have kids.
I know so many people who partied/travelled through their 20s and popped up outta nowhere with a baby post-pandemic now that we are in our 30s. Most people aren't creating the next Apple or Amazon, they not writing the next great American novel, they not meditating for 40 days and 40 nights to become a sufi mystic or buddhist monk, they not running for political office. Just watching HBO Max, travelling with their wife/husband if they got one, drinking, partying, consuming drugs, eating out and going to work/small business. A lot of people need the identity of "father/husband" or "wife/mother" because they don't have anything really important going on and that existential dread starts to creep in.
