They can update the rosters, they have the NBA licensing
Damn shame too, EA doesn't see profit in Arcadey sports games and trying figure out how to run your pockets
we all have nostalgia and personal anecdotes, but ultimately EA has the numbers
I imagine games like this are expensive because of the licensing. and as others have pointed out, even when the money's there, these companies might still be picky about how their organization is portrayed
plus these games were more about individual players, so that can be complicated when certain players want more money and such
I kind of wish there was more of a market for unlicensed sports games
