They should take him off TV for about a month. Have him come back and address the issues of his past. Have him be humble and remorseful.....at first. Even have him tone down his wrestling style. No typical "big man squash." Just have him be aggressive and impactful.
Over the course of a couple of weeks have him transition from being remorseful to resentful. He's not being granted the redemption and forgiveness he feels he's ENTITLED to. That frustration shows itself in his matches too leading to an eventual loss. He beats down the opponent after the match but backs off......he's "sorry."
After another two week absence he's back. He says everyone is still upset at him. He doesn't understand why in a country that is built upon second chances and redemption he's not getting one. This country that has done horrible things to people over time but has taken redemption and forgiveness for itself and has presented the image of a great nation.
