I don't need to break down reasons why LeBron is better than Penny, you did it for me OP. Just the fact that you and the other anti-Bron stans are so threatened by his greatness that you make thread after thread after thread about him day in and day out tells us everything we need to know. :yeshrug:

Penny's best season is around the same range as lebron's rookie year or a down season:lolbron:

Thing about Penny, he never really went all out on the offensive end...at least as a scorer. The only time I can remember him doing that was against Miami in the '97 playoffs(I think it was '97, but I'm not sure). He was wired more like a pure pg.Look at the career FGA's per game...Bron shoots damn near 8 more shots per game.End of the day, Bron got him because he's more assertive.Penny was dope, but he always seemed a lil "moody"/passive to me.He wasn't an "alpha".I guess it's hard to hold that against him because he never really got the chance to bring his game into total alignment.Injuries took his prime away.

Had he had more hair on his chest, given his skillset/efficiency, I'm sure he could've been a 25ppg+ player if he wanted to.Obviously, he's not as dominant as Bron, but move for move, I think he was more skilled/smooth.He just never matched Bron in volume.

Because he's missing wide open jumpers that has nothing to do with Love or Irving not playing. And he's had some dominant postseason runs in the past with the Cavaliers sans Irving or Love

You would swear he was averaging 10 points and not in the finals, near triple double and 30 points son what are u complaining about? :dahell:

First off, Lebron isn't better than Jordan. :snoop:

or Kobe:banderas:

But thats not the most frustrating thing ive heard people say about him recently.:whoa:

I'm tired of the media making it like we've never seen another player with an all around skilled offensive game as Lebron. Like lebron is some basketball prodigy or freak of nature. Yea hes big and fast unlike anything we've seen play point guard, but SKILL WISE, Penny was just as good or even better. If you break down every aspect of their games offensively its clear.

Before reading you might want to watch this highlight video first.

Ball Handling. Penny is better. Just look at the video. Not much of a debate there.

Jumpshot. Penny is better or as good if you want to give lebron the benefit of doubt or bring up "stats":beli:. Lebron takes smart shots, and doesnt shoot that much so he shoots a good percentage. but We all know how lebron has struggled with his shooting, especially these playoffs or at the end of games. Defenses know this too.

Inside/Post game. I might be crazy but Pennys post game at its best was light years a head of even lebrons recently improved post game.
Remember everyone saying lebron had to develop a post game or at least try scoring in the post more only 2-3 years ago? Well, penny as a rookie had a better post than Lebron in his prime.

Pennys post game is:ohlawd:

Lebrons is all brute force:manny:

Finishing at the rim/in transition. Ill say they are equal here. Penny was a more creative finisher with more finesse layups, floaters and stuff like that. Lebron is more power and physically harder to stop cause hes pretty much running through you and dunking over you. Plus Lebron is faster and jumped higher. But thats not saying Penny didnt dunk on or try to posterize any player including the Centers in the 90s. But for his frame and height, Penny was a beast. I think his dunking gets overlooked actually.

Passing/Playmaking ability. Penny had everyone comparing him to magic johnson BEFORE anyone knew Lebron existed. Everyone knows penny was a great passer. and has some of the greatest passing highlights of any player. I dont see Lebron to be as good of a passer naturally. But 99 percent of basketball fans do so Ill say they are equal. Lebron makes the right pass/perfect pass eventhough it might not be flashy or difficult like penny.

Ill say maybe Lebron is a better playmaker right now, the way he controls everything thats going on the court is:wow:.

But who is the better point guard? Consider the fact that Penny was actually a true pg (it was his natural position) not just a point forward playing the point guard position because no one else on his team has been capable of filling the position better than him.

Put Lebron with a real point guard and he'll be playing sf or pf. I just dont consider Lebron a point guard like Penny or Magic. Hes just a Forward whos good at passing and that makes his passing ability something special or unique.

The bottom line is, we've seen Lebron before. It was Penny (or even grant hill) and Lebron ain't even better than him..... offensively.

Keep in mind I'm comparing orlando magic Penny in his early 20's to Lebron in his 30's whos played 10+ years in the NBA:wow:

AND Penny was Lebrons favorite player growing up.

Sorry for the long post but I had to get it off my chest.:whew:

what difference does any of this make? penny's career was ended by injuries before he could even really have a prime...

lebron wins by default

Peak for peak? LeBron's more dominant in the paint and finishes through contact like its not even there. Absurd efficiency levels because of his Barkley esque inside dominance. Also has better court vision casually whipping one handed cross court bounce passes out of doubles like its nothing. You recklessly double peak LeBron you die. However if we're just comparing the current LBJ who's been off his game offensively and isn't at his offensive best to peak Penny Hardaway I think it's a pretty close comparison. His post work would be unrivaled among perimeter players in the game today & would give defenses fits due to the mismatch he provides as a 6'7 PG. Outstanding at getting penetration and making something of efficient value happen for his team whether finishing strong in the paint where he'd be among league leaders for conversation rate or taking adv of the collapsed defense getting the ball to a teammate in position to make a play. Takes great care of the basketball as the primary ball handler & will make others around him better. Strong mid range game and a capable 3pt shooter as well. He may have a case for best player in the game if in the league today actually.

Great post. I agree with everything except a younger lebron might've been better in someways but his post game would be non existent which cancels out any advantage hed have over this current lebron when comparing him to penny.

But yea Lebrons court vision is underrated to the casual fan or lebron hater. He just makes it look so easy and knows where everyone is and how the play needs to be run if you understand basketball at its most basic level.

Penny was just so smooth in transition or just spontaneous passes like magic. And they gave it extra style. Lebron just is so precise with his passes

But penny in today's game would be unguardable. Probably something like paul george with with better handles and more post moves

Great reel:wow:

I remember when the Bulls had Pippen, Mike, Rodman, and Ron Harper.

Penny was the only wing in the league that made me go "None of these nikkaz can guard him:ohhh:" when he played against the Bulls.

His post game was vicious......But when you have Shaq on your team, you feed him the ball.:francis:

We never got to see Penny be "the man" before the injuries took over

:francis:

FG %: James: 50, Hardaway: 46
Playoff FG %: James: 48, Hardaway: 45

3-Point %: James: 34, Hardaway: 32

Assists: James: 6.9, Hardaway: 5

PPG: James: 27.3, highest 30 Hardaway: 15, highest 21

If Penny Hardaway scored 27 points, you'd buy him a beer. If Lebron scored 27 points, you'd think he had some bad fish for lunch.

Seriously, what the fukk are you talking about

You're comparing stats from a 10+ Year NBA veteran to that off a player basically in his 20s 2-3 years in the NBA though.

We all know lebrons stats are padded.

Penny faced better competition too. And besides a very raw Shaq he played with no greats while at his best in Orlando. Then he battled injuries....

But the argument was raw talent/skillset not statistally
Who produced better numbers.

I don't care about stats anyways:russ:
