Great fight, great match up.

While Stevenson is left with..........guys who have names that are on the fade (Bute, Shumenov, E-Rod) and young, hungry dangerous opponents with no names (Alvarez, Beterbiev) and a guy with a belt who ain't leaving Germany (Brehmer)

and let's not forget the fringe contenders who'll never be elite, but just won't go far enough away to not be mentioned (Mohammedi, Campillo, Chilemba)

Say what you want, unless he plans on targeting the winner of Pascal/Kovalev, he'd draw more money with 50 year old Hopkins than anyone I just mentioned.

A trump card Haymon is willing to use just in case Pascal/Duva/HBO doesn't concede to their demands...

SERGEY KOVALEV VS. JEAN PASCAL SET FOR MARCH 14 PROVIDED PASCAL WINS THIS SATURDAY
By Press Release | December 02, 2014

Main Events and InterBox are proud to announce that an agreement has been reached to present a fight between the reigning unified WBO, IBF and WBA Light Heavyweight World Champion, Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev (26-0-1, 23 KOs) and former WBC and The Ring Light Heavyweight Champion, Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs). The fight is to take place in Montréal or Québec City on Saturday, March 14, 2015, but it is contingent on Pascal prevailing over Bolonti on December 6 and on the IBF granting Kovalev a special exception to postpone his mandatory title defense against Nadjib Mohammedi. This mega-bout will be televised live in the United States on HBO. Further details will be announced at a later date.

Pascal's fight at the Bell Centre December 6 was already a very important one for his career, but this possibility brings it to a whole new level. Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events, will be watching the fight with Jean Bédard, as she has accepted the invitation extended by the InterBox president to join him ringside at the gala.

"The negotiation with Main Events went quickly and smoothly, so I know we'll be able to organize a high calibre fight and a great night of boxing. After a pretty mediocre 2014 so far, we're preparing to offer Québec boxing fans one of the best fights we could make in the entire division," said Jean Bédard.

Kathy Duva said, "Sergey has made it very clear since the moment we signed him that he only wants to fight the best fighters. I promised after his demolition of Bernard Hopkins that the next one would be for the money. I'm thrilled to work with Interbox to bring boxing fans the Krusher versus Jean Pascal, which delivers on both fronts! The truth is that these fights are easy to make when both fighters want to be in the big fights and the promoters and managers are willing to be reasonable and work together."

You read me wrong. I'm talking after this fight, if he can't get Pascal (assuming he wins)/Kovalev (assuming he wins)/ or their promoters *Duva, HBO* to concede

When did pascal turn into anything but a good contender?

So kovalev has beat Hopkins and who else exactly? He's in a similar position to what Stevenson was in a year ago except he only has one quality win.
To see people throwing so much shade at Adonis because he fought one ehh guy and is about to fight a part time USSR scientist is laughable. Do y'all think if Stevenson fought b-hop he would have got knocked down like he did against Fonfara? Kovalev looking good is not equivalent to Adonis looking bad. Adonis beat the breaks off cloud and knocked Dawson the fukk out. Kovalev got one KD and had some really good rounds against a 49yr old B hop
:stopitslime: how you bigging up dawson and saying pascal is just a "good contender"..the fukk you think Dawsons first loss came from:upsetfavre:

You bigging up that dawson win from adonis like he didnt get his soul taken just before by SOG.

Cloud:mjlol: you mean dude that caught a boxing lesson from old man hop and KTFO by a Russian with under seven pro fights....You think Kovalev would have any trouble with him!? .............:scust: and to be real shouldn' have won the SD against Gabriel Campillo...you know dude that got destroyed by Kovalev.:usure:

Adonis biggest Light heavyweight win is probably Tony Bellew:lolbron: you know.... dude that lost to Nathan Cleverly .....who was fukked up by Sergey Kovalev! :usure:

Outboxed a legend, KTFO two light heavyweight champions under 4 rounds...but who has he beaten exactly brehs:yeshrug:

Pascal will be added to the list and soon will Adonis:banderas:

See.... I can't say he's that great becuz the only person we really have to go off of is Floyd. I always thought Biscuits had more control of his career which is why we're able to see fights in Cincy with his name of them.

So yeah... this deal with NBC better be on some "bringing boxing back to the forefront" type shyt becuz right now it ain't looking sweet.

I'm not sure i should even address this post. Haymon has guided numerous fighters & got them great paydays.

You name any fighter & i can pick their resume apart. I don't even disagree about Kovalev's resume, but this thread is more about Kovalev quietly going around facing the biggest draws in the division while this nygga Stevenson hasn't fought in so long, he's contemplating going back to gorilla pimpin for extra income. Head to Head it's an even match up, but this isn't what the thread is about.

my nygga, Al Haymon has a roster of about 115 fighters. Way too many fighters for me to break down how he's been beneficial to their career. He has that many fighters, because he's the best. However, everyone isn't gonna be a fit. It's just the way it is.

You can have a guy that's the best trainer in the world & there's gonna be a great fighter out there that doesnt click with them.

Oh...

As for this year tho.... :sas2:

Off the top of my head

Well look at what he did for Jermaine Taylor. He's got a title again. He got Andre Berto 400k for an undercard fight.:heh: I could go on.

For his top tier fighters, who knows what his motivations are. I'm sure we'll find out in 2015.
