Then effectively you're still pricing people out with preexisting conditions. :hhh:

Also this is just stupid. You need healthy people in the same pool as those who are sick to make it work.

That's the key. :smugkobe1:

Here's what people failed to understand: PPACA--had people been patient and not try to gut it by allowing states to opt out of Medicaid expansion--would have eventually driven costs down.

The keys to controlling healthcare spending are:

-Strong ability to negotiate prices with healthcare providers, drug companies, and medical device manufacturers
-Giving healthy people an incentive to participate in the markets (why do you think companies like Allstate reward you for never having an accident? :sas1:)

The US healthcare scene is terribly fractured; there's no unified, consistent means of negotiating prices unless you're on Medicaid/Medicare already. That's why medications for Medicaid/Medicare participants tends to be cheaper than those with private insurance.

THe ACHA and the BCRA would price healthy people out of the markets, leaving :flabbynsick: people to shoulder the bulk of healthcare costs. :snoop:

:mindblown:
where the fukk do you guys come up with this?

I wasn't the one who said you were white or French-Canadian, :hubie: but I distinctly remember you stating you were Canadian before. :bpthink:

If so, it's strange how obtuse you're being in this thread. :bpthink:

Do you not like the healthcare system in Canada? :stephena1:

What it is, is that Republicans have tied themselves into such a partisan pretzel, they have to entertain all these illogical contradictory ideas and thoughts. There is the shyt they fed their base for 7 years which was allowed to fester as Democrats did nothing to counter the misinformation well enough and in a lot of cases run away from the ACA together. But now, several aspects of it after 7 long years are getting more and more attention and the dumb fukks who failed to educate themselves on it before, all of sudden aren't so gung ho about burning it all down.

Republicans know this change of heart in the public consciousness has taken place and now the Democrats, after losing 1000+ seats and the white house are putting the spotlight on this shyt since its now in danger.

Its all highly dysfunctional and sad really.

L's for everyone.

My mistake :ehh:
forgive my lack of knowledge on the us healthcare system (i'm used to cheap/free and efficient healthcare, both government subsidized and private :pachaha:) but it seems that 1. everything is retardedly expensive and 2. there is a supreme lack of universal healthcare.

You were right the first time. Even with "access" our healthcare isn't too great for a lot of people compared to other countries. Long waits, plenty of tedious paperwork, barely any time with an actual doctor.

I was browsing Reddit once and people were talking about healthcare in other countries. An American who moved to Australia was shocked at the fact that they could just show up their appointment and see the doctor/nurse right away. No waiting, no paperwork, no hoops to jump through. I was shocked too.

Yeah breh, every time I see my doc it's a 5 minute wait. My company's insurance basically covers every clinic in the city :ehh:
I get that there is a tonne of people in America and therefore the system is gigantic and slow, but with all the money used on the military, if some of that was funneled back into education and healthcare it would simply be so much better. but then again, it's never that simple :yeshrug:
