No senator is going to support reparations it's fukked up but it's a deeply unpopular policy overall outside of the black community. You will get the occasional member of the house that will support it but it's political suicide as a senator.

The problem this isn’t some local election for the school board.
He’s a senator meaning his policies will have national significance. And strategically his vote is important to the democrats in the senate. It was politically very shrewd of Marcel to pose this question right before the election because it exposes him

A group of people won’t fukk with a black politician who won’t base his campaign off reparations, while at the same time any black politician who bases his campaign off reparations is guaranteed to lose
The electorate who are reparations or die would rather black candidates tank than try to run without reparations. So clean water, community investment, and all those other unimportant things can die in a fire if reparations isn't mentioned.
