It's neither. I thought it was going to be more of a unique gameplay experience out the box but it is kind of like tenchu meets the samurai sword class in dark souls. Gameplay was still a lot of fun and very clean with Polish.

Grapple hook mechanics are fun as hell

I don't have any new skills yet so they've probably made it the DS samurai class on steroids once u skill up

Xbox One X and PS4 pro somewhere near 4k but not quite. X1X looks slightly better than the Pro. PS4 1080p, Xbox One/S 900p.
Choppy framerate on all consoles.

I'd say it's even simpler than dark souls since u only press one button to attack. R1. There is no strong attack button . U slash and counter to break posture and do deathblows instead of aiming to finish by depleting energy. Enemies have a posture meter and an energy meter. The satisfying combat comes from depleting posture and finishing .

Different attacks from from r1 depending on if you attacked off a counter Dodge lock on etc but you only use one button to attack, so far.

I think you upgrade the arm and do attacks with that using r2 but I haven't done that yet. This is just 3 hours out the box.
