Seems Tesla’s new Cybertruck doesn’t do well in the snow or off-road.

It’s not an off-road truck

There are variations of trucks specifically designed or upgraded for shyt like this

It’s like dudes who are getting these things are specifically trying to do dumb shyt you wouldn’t normally do in any truck just to get the click/views from the bad press
Yep, i technically have an "offroad truck" but its a chevy colorado z71.

It has 4wd high and 4wd low. it has decent clearance, and even downhill mode for steep declines.
but it doesn't have wheels or suspension meant for real offroading. It basically just helps me on bumpy dirt roads. Not mountaining touring or driving through 2 feet of snow.
but they have a different model that is specifically designed for offroading. you'll notice the front bumper is removed so the entire front of the tire can be seen, this allows from steeper inclines before scraping. steel plates underneath in case it still does scrape. Much more tread on the tires, higher up off the ground, and upgraded suspension etc

It’s a very pretty truck

Off-road.. sure but most people are not going to spend 120k for that.

It’s also has a shorter battery/speed in comparison but it may be better for off-road. It’s massive

I never looked at the cybertruck and thought off road. It looks like its use would be for what most ordinary people use trucks for.

For all the offroad shyt, most of the time you have to buy the off-road package
:mjlol:

Negged. You fukking tool.

Exactly

Cats being obtuse because it’s Tesla

And I’m not even a fanboy. I actually am more interested in Chevy’s EV truck that still hasn’t been released, and actually dislike the fact it’s so fukking big now.

I like the Colorados but you literally have to get the offroad package on any truck to do serious offroad shyt in.

It's a shyt car made because of the whims of an idiot with unlimited money.

It will keep getting smoked by the F150 lightning. People that need an actual electric truck know where to go.

This may be somewhat true

But there’s zero version of the Hummer EV being sold under 100k and apparently never will be. It will still “supposedly” perform less than any major EV truck especially a newer one except for off-road maybe… and thats a maybe.

And the pictures are just pictures.. they have them doing off-road for ANY truck. They believe thats what most Americans want them for… off-road and hauling shyt. But 90% of the people I see in trucks are using them for point A-B, maybe move regular shyt, or to fill a void about themselves on the road.

Nobody is buying an EV truck to fukk it up off road except YouTubers. Thats close to 100k to go off roading… when there are cheaper alternatives better suited.

At the moment at least. Maybe if EV becomes even more mainstream, but nikkas that are hauling shyt like that are probably still going to use gas/diesel.. unless they’re using the EV Truck to tow their sailboats and shyt

And again, Cybertruck may have off-road features but it’s not really an off-road truck. Sand, dirt, shytty backroads that a normal car might have issues with. It would probably need to be lifted and everything to drive through the woods, over hills, through rivers and all that dumb shyt nobody really does.. Also, those vids look like Overland more than just regular Offroad through a shytty backroad. Most trucks aren’t doing overland shyt unless specifically modified for it
Plenty of people spend $100k+ to offroad. Go to an event and you see plenty of folks with Jeep Chereokees outfitted at over $100k. You keep claiming the Hummer EV is worse st specs but fail to list any. It's range it better than the Ford F-1 Lightning, Rivian R1t with max pack, and Cybertruck AWD (Longest range spec). The only spec I can think of is the Cyberbeast's 2.6sec 0-60mps vs Hummer's 3.0 sec 0-60 time. Yet, the Hummer and any other EV truck can drive in snow while the Cybertruck is getting towed away. That's what this thread is really all about.

I didn’t see any “urban apocalypse” terrain. I just saw a truck in a pile of snow.
Soon as it hit that first pile of bodies in the street of this hypothetical apocalypse.....the occupants are food......the streets know the truck is shyt so anyone choosing to drive it on those hypothetical post apocalyptic streets is suicidal

Not doing a lot of off-roading shyt in an urban environment
The truck is quoted as an apocalypse vehicle, let's be reality in all that that term means. There are urban areas where it snows regularly and some where it dies unpredictably......this a fail, there's no flip......he should have just said here's my electric truck thing and kept it moving.......wasn't expecting accountability and people putting it to the test......his fukking cars STILL don't do all the shyt he been claiming for years.......full stop

Pretty sure postapocalyptic cities are still gonna have snow once in a while. Imagine not being able to get away from the zombies because of three inches of accumulation.

All you gotta do is buy the right tires and you’ll have enough to get out of that small imprint in the snow, just like all the front wheel drive Toyota Corollas! :ehh:
