Black coaches are more likely to stick their kneck out for players and try to mentor them. Marvin Lewis worked well with Johnson because he knew how to deal with him.

And that one strike policy was some bullshyt to begin with. You setting him up to fail. The Dolphins used Johnson to bring attention to their team. How the fukk you gonna want discipline but have a show like Hard Knocks come to your camp. They KNEW what kind of person Johnson was but still signed him.

To make a nikka have to beg for his job and point out that he's NEVER had legal problems was uncalled for. That cac coach is trying to earn a rep plain and simple.

:what: at a 34 year old, washed up receiver needing a mentor... he's way past his prime, his old ass should be the one doing the mentoring... if the coaches are gonna take the time to mentor a player, why not spend that time doing so to a young guy like Roberto Wallace or Julius Pruitt who has untapped potential rather than a guy on his last legs

respect, usa
College football and NFL, no exaggeration: you got cac owners/GMs/ADs/coaches all controlling and dictating a field of young black men on a field like some fukking modern day slavery show put on to entertain cac audiences

shyt is disgusting

We need to stop likening the racial makeup of sports to slavery. Every time we do, it lessens the horror of slavery. Just saying breh. Willingly playing football and being sold at the age of 2 years old can't and should not be compared.

Not that I'm siding with this coach but chad is a declining player who was a non factor the previous year and not exactly blowing the competition away at training camp. I think the coach should of given him another chance but I don't think the situation would of been any different if a player like jeremy shockey was the one being charged with domestic violence than cut afterwards.

This has very little to do with race.

here are the facts:

- When they signed him, it was understood that he was on a "one strike" policy. He was to be cut after any fukk ups. Philbin didn't want him on the team (he was the one who wanted Brandon Marshall gone when he first got here for similar reasons), it was Ireland the GM and Ross the owner who backed the move.

- Chad was underwhelming in practice. Dude was going to be, at BEST, the 4th receiver once Hartline came back healthy.

- The reason Chad got cut is all his doing. HE chose to marry that hoe. HE chose to get in that altercation.

As a first time head coach looking to put his "no nonsense" stamp on a football team, what is he supposed to do? Send the message that it's okay to get in dumb ass trouble like this and there will be no repercussions? Chad was a distraction from the day that he got down here, Philbin was waiting to get rid of his ass. This was the perfect opportunity, BUT AN OPPORTUNITY CREATED BY CHAD'S STUPIDITY AND QUESTIONABLE DECISION MAKING.

What about due process? He says he didnt hit her, she says he did. I would at least do some fact checking. Think about it, suppose he didnt really headbutt the bytch like he said? Suppose she was being vindictive? I guess im just more willing to wait before I pss judgment on people. It's not like he has a histort of this kinda thing. His biggest mistake her was marrying that woman, and I bet if ahe woulda thought it through she wouldn't even started that argument because she lost as much as he did maybe more because now she doesnt have a show or his nfl income. The more I think, it seems like the coach didn't want him on the squad to begin with.

Can't feel sorry for him, but to be on one-strike, and to be cut before it's even been determined by the law if it's your fault is rough.

I went through a similar situation when I worked at a summer camp. Receiving consequences for things that may not be your fault is the worst. As for Chad's football skills, I think he was impressing people there, he at least seemed determined to prove the doubters wrong.

Still, it doesn't affect me so my sympathy doesn't extend much.

why does any player get cut, then?

Dude was getting owned in practice every day by Sean Smith and then talking shyt and causing distractions off the field. He wasn't worth the headache.

Chad was #1 on the depth chart and getting praise from everyone. HBO edited that shyt for nikkas like u to think Chad wasn't handling business. He was by far the best WR they had in camp.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
:cape:.......all that nikka had to do was stay out of trouble and he couldnt even do that.....

Some shyt you can't control b, especially when it comes to domestic shyt. I know in some states, if a chick calls the police and says you hit her, even if she lying the cops have no choice but to arrest you. You can't knock somebody for having issues at home. They bascially used that as an excuse to cut him. No offer of family counseling no nothing.

They didn't have the heart to tell Chad, is skills are not what they hoped for or just tell him that they don't like his personality and just move on.

They got Johnson thinking its one thing when it something else.

this is not true. Bess and Naanee were both outplaying him. Chad was our 3rd best receiver in camp, and that's because Hartline is hurt

Miami Dolphins WR Chad Johnson impresses coach, others at training camp – NFL News

It has been about a week at training camp and Miami Dolphins’ new wide receiver Chad Johnson has proved why he is a six-time Pro Bowl receiver – but only if his last year at the New England Patriots, which stands against his performance in rest of the pro career, is taken out of the record book.

Chad spoke to mediamen for the first time at training camp on Wednesday and shown himself to be a witty and cheekily funny in talk while remaining as sharp and agile in the workout as ever before.

He said:

"Why? Because I'm good. I'm really good. The odds have been stacked against me since 1978. I had a bad year. Finally. I handled my business for a decade straight. I took a bullet, worked this offseason, I'm here, still working. I'll be back to normal."

The WR was signed by the Dolphins off the free agency within four days to his release by the Patriots – where he spent the worst season of his career in 2011. The player nevertheless said to be already over with that bad form, returning as a better player.

He has won praise from coach Joe Philbin and others. The coach said of him:

"This guy likes football a lot. He comes up to our meetings sometimes and just wants to hang around. He's a little bit of a gym rat in that regard, which is good. You like players that like the game and he wants to know. He's not afraid of being coached."

At the time of his signing the Dolphins were criticised over the choice they had made, but as promised by Chad himself his performance so far has proven his selection by the team was a right decision.

The receiver has already shown he is going to be a great excitement to watch. It is not just his stepped up game but his remarks on a range of issues, which he throws out every now and then. The Dolphins have great expectations from him this season.

homey I know all about that domestic shyt far to well......that nikka brought it upon himself when his wife found a receipt for some condoms or some shyt like that.....he was getting handled in practice, still trying to be a diva and at 34 years old was not a good example to the younger players.....I dont think some of you know how critical that is to have a fukk up veteran player on the team.....its causes to much drama in the locker room and they didnt want it....I cant blame them for letting his ass go.....it was all on Johnson.....

nikka u a Dolphins fan and don't know Chad was balling in camp?

He was at the top of the depth chart immediately, Brian fukkin Hartline wasn't gonna change that.

nice editing.

They have a habit of doing that... It makes for a good story. This is why other teams didnt wanna participate, also they didnt want the distraction.
