Nah Morton was signed to be a regular season #3 at worst and a #2/game clinching starter for the playoffs. Wright and Strider have out performed him in stretches which has made him a luxury to have as a 4. But part of his signing was due to his rep from his Astros and Rays days as a clutch postseason performer.
Nobody’s paying a late 30s guy $20 million to be a back end rotation guy (except the Mets)

Anderson/Soroka/Tryouts
Either way we need 100% Fried back because I don’t see how anyone trusts Elder in the playoffs. Morton to me was a “Break In Case Of Emergency” signing which unfortunately we are now in.
