I agree that hitting was the problem in the post season, but we needed another pitcher and Giolito was a low risk gamble. He's also boys with Fried from when they were in high school, so who knows... he may have pitched better with the Braves.

Breh the Phillies scored 3 runs the first game. 4 runs the second. And 3 runs last night. All 3 of those games were pitched well enough to win. But the offense didn’t show. They scored 8 runs over 4 games. That’s Marlins shyt

Game 3 was an Elder / pen game they punted because they knew they’d need the real pen for games 4/5.

Pitching couldn’t have gotten much better. Giolito wasn’t gonna come in and threw a 7 inning shutout.

And even if he did….? The Braves still woulda lost the series, or be going to Game 5 at best, because they weren’t hitting.

I know this. You're missing the point. The Braves have for the past two years sat on the rotation without trying to improve it. Same thing with LF. They've been trying to platoon it. All I'm saying is address both.

Of course the ATL
this. The bats shyt the bed plain and simple.

It ain't on the schedule, it ain't on Snit, it ain't on AA, the pitching deserves maybe 30% of the blame, 70% of the blame is on the vaunted offense, they're the reason we're on the couch for the 2nd straight year. I don't know how this gets rectified other than them being GREAT in October.

Playoffs is more about small ball and situational hitting and all we could do was roll over to first when we needed a single or a groundout to score a run smh. I keep thinking about a Barry Bonds story from when he was batting coach with the Marlins, he was working with Ozuna and told him next at-bat don't try to hit the cover off the ball, just make an out. Basically illustrating to him patience, timing etc. This fool hit a HR lmaoo. That type of shyt doesn't always work in October

Snit was bad tho, I can’t give him a pass. Lineup change backfired in Game 1, he totally botched Game 3 with his coaching decisions particularly leaving Elder in too long and pitching some of our worst bullpen arms to close out the game. He managed with no urgency in Game 3. That’s 2 of 4 games where our manager got thoroughly outmanaged. We can’t let that slide even tho I do agree that the offense was a huge letdown

IDK if AA is gonna go spend alotta money to get a frontline starter or 2. Remember he’s always about getting guys young and keeping them under team control (he hasn’t really had that situation with a pitcher yet). Also keep in mind Fried can walk after next season so does AA give him 30+ mil a year? IDK but AA is gonna have to rebuild this pitching staff soon

I agree with that, but I’m sayin Giolito wouldn’t have made any difference this series. No pitcher would have. They didn’t hit! That’s all it is

Bye in first round in baseball is so stupid

They need to fix it somehow
First round = 2 of 3. All three games at the home teams field. First day = double header.

Whoever wins , on flight that day/night to the "bye team". Max rest for bye teams is 2-3 days. And other team uses up their two best pitchers.
