Diamondbacks also have the hot hand so I wonder how that’ll work out for the Phillies.

Securing two more SPs and doing something with Pillar our my suggestions.

Is Soroka even still an option?

wow. What a season.

Really can’t blame the format because Astros made it to the ALCS (albeit they clutched up their last few games and got lucky with the what if scenario)
Astros have dogs who are playoff ready, which we simply don't have. Hopefully the young guys can grow into that but it may take a couple more appearances. I will say Snit may not be the guy to get us to be a perennial threat in the playoffs with the talent we have.

You can't get rid of a manager who just won the World Series 2 seasons ago :mjlol:

He made some mistakes but at the end of the day most of the lineup didn't do nearly enough to get the job done. Even still, the team is ahead of schedule.

The Braves would have to pick up Soroka’s option…I don’t think he’s coming back

Maybe Morton but yea I agree you need to see Elder bounce back, Ian Anderson coming off an injury. :yeshrug:

You’ll have Winans, Vines, AJ Smith Shawver and Jared Shuster all get looks at that 5th spot coming out of spring training

Pillar is just a defensive replacement. He’s not awful, he had 9 HRs this season as a late game defensive replacement he’s not the reason we lost this series

Blow the team up and go for pitching. Trade some of those pieces. Regular season success is stopping yall from making the necessary jump to next level.

I didn't say we should or will but I don't think he can lead us to be perennial contenders.

Astros also have the feel of just a solid unit that mesh together.. Álvarez, Bregman, Altuve, Tucker.. Pena being a young pup to plug in there..
That 2021 run they stated Joc was the gluepiece in that locker room… and we gave him the boot :francis:

What's the actual record of bye teams? Doesn't seem like an advantage. It's not just the Braves who have lost after a bye. I think the Astros might be the only team that's won after having a bye.

They'll probably eventually go to 16 playoff teams but one thing I'd like to see is the NLDS move to a 7-game series format. The NBA did away with the 5-game format for the first round a long time ago. 7-game series is a little more of a sample size than 5.

:mjtf: do you not see these contracts? This is a long-term ride with this core.
