Hip hop is black american. Rooted in black american culture and black american music. Hip hop was contributed to heavily by Caribbean Americans. Doesn't change its roots and culture. Muthafukkas didn't just come to New York and GIVE us Hip hop. Hip hop is rooted in AMERICAN culture, music, experiences, etc etc. Not foreign. nikkas tryna erase us from our own history is corny. Black Americans created 95% of modern popular music. Muthafukkas was dancing to BREAK BEATS. Which created Breakdancing. NOT Reggae or Salsa. The music that was being flipped was soul music. Went to electronic music as well. The producers including Pete HIMSELF was flipping black american Jazz, rnb, soul etc etc. All of Pete's most known works used american flips.
