I'm over here sitting onthis Amtrak train like @ this topic. 2 things tho, USC is the lone team on the west that can beat a top 3sec team on any gieven day due to the fact that they have the size and speed that sec teams have. Teams like oregon are fast but they are wayyyy too small to play an sec team. Whereas usc maches up evenly in retrospect they will always have an advantage at qb. The other thing is that y'all are saying they were calling the leinhart/bush team the best ever...no they weren't. They may have had the best offense ever(even without mike williams) but that D was suspect. The 08 team got more plub as the best team ever cause that defense was the best of the modern era with the greatest linebacking core: malauga cushing matthews and maiava amongst declared draftees

Yes they were, that 05 team was on a 34 game winning streak, 2 straight national titles, arguably the best player (Bush) of this generation, Matt Leinart, superstar Coach, celebrities on the sidelines etc.

my nikka, that's not the case. nikkas don't want their rivals to win championships, they just want the teams in their conference to not suck so when they play them it looks better in the eyes of the voters. as a syracuse fan, i understand where fans of SEC teams are coming from. going 12-0 in the big east don't mean shyt because every team behind you in the standings is 6-6 or 5-7. and while i'm not exactly rooting for other big east schools to win championships, i do acknowledge that the better big east teams perform out of conference against the other major conferences, the better the whole conference looks.

now, if there were no bcs or human polls that are mainly about strength of schedule to worry about, i assure you some fans would not have this mentality. as a jets fan, i know my teams chances of playing in the super bowl don't depend on how well the pats, dolphins, and bills perform so pray they finsh at least 2-14 or 3-13 every year so we can win the division.

LSU has played Oregon and Washington a couple of times

and Washington State came to Auburn in 2006

theres plenty of other games played between SEC and Pac-10(12) in the last couple of years

USC just like Notre Dame likes to play the same folks with one big OOC game(IE OSU the last 2 times)

I can agree with this but then you got fans still rooting for the sec team to win the chip after theirs is eliminated. And the whole conference seems to celebrate afterwards. One fan in the thread said lsu contributed two of the six. Imo they only won two not six. But I see your point. Id rather beat an undefeated bytchigan team and ruin their season than stomp out that garbage weve become accostomed to beating. But ill be damned if I root for scUM if they pay,bribe,blackmail, and cheat their way into a tittle game. fukk conference pride.
