how many times do we have to tell you people that conference perception matters and you should root for your conference in OOC? ... y'all anti- conference folks, especially if your team isn't perennially top5 and has a soft SOS, are sounding willfully ignorant. Shyt keeps coming up every fukkin year. :smh:

exactly. I root for the SEC because it helps my team. It helps us in recruiting. And it helps us potentially get more teams in the playoff. Also it gives us the benefit of the doubt to always be the highest ranked 1 loss or 2 loss team. Perception matters. And if your conference is perceived as the strongest, then it can only help your team.

conference pride = team pride.

I'll never root for Alabama or Florida against MY TEAM, or even most other SEC teams cause I hate them nikkas so much, but I will root for them like crazy against every non-SEC opponent.

Nobody gives a fukk about conference perception except nikkas with shytty teams.

conference perception almost kept your team out of the playoff. i would think you of all people would know. if the big 12 had a championship game, I guarantee you Ohio State wouldn't have made the playoff last year. the winner of TCU/Baylor would have.

Why did he make this thread :snoop:

SEC teams shouldn't be giving up 30 points to Bowling Green :mjpls:

I don't root for any other team except Bama :camby:

Bowling Green is like a mini-Baylor breh. They ran the highest tempo offense in the country last year. Their coach is from the Art Briles coaching tree. Their starting QB (who was injured last year) is also REALLY GOOD. He was throwing dimes all day. I think by seasons-end, holding them to 30 pts will actually look pretty good.

That had nothing to do with conference perception and everything to do with playing one less game, giving OSU the chance to step up

naw. conference perception matters when resumes are close. for example, a 1 loss-SEC team will always be favored over a 1-loss team from any other conference. that is why conference perception matters. it gives you the benefit of the doubt if everything else is equal. its the reason Ohio State continued to lag behind in the polls as a 1 loss team. While teams like Alabama and Miss St. were still ranked very high eventhough they had 1 loss.

That's all well and good. Point is that you should just worry about your team going undefeated.

Thats not realistic and shouldn't be the end all be all when no one plays the same schedule.

Do you see Bamas Schedule?

Do you see FSU Schedule?

You think an undefeated FSU team should be considered one of the best teams in the country over other teams?

I would personally put Alabama in the playoff without giving a single thought to any undefated team in the country if they make it out of that schedule with 1 loss.

hell I'd prolly still consider them a lock for the playoff with 2 losses given the guantlet hey have to run. 9 teams in the pre-season top 27 is ridiculous.
