It's a long season, I'm not rushing to any conclusions yet. Scrape out a win vs the Bears to get to 3-1 and then let's go into Dallas fully healthy on extra rest. That game will be the real measuring test.

GREEN BAY - Another week, another round of injuries.

So it goes for the Green Bay Packers, who placed long snapper Brett Goode on injured reserve with a hamstring injury Monday and were in the process of signing an offensive tackle to fill in for injured Kyle Murphy (foot).

The Packers found out Monday that Goode’s hamstring injury, suffered early in the 27-24 overtime victory over Cincinnati on Sunday at Lambeau Field, would sideline him at least a couple of weeks. They had little choice but to put him on injured reserve, especially with a game Thursday night against the Chicago Bears on tap.

"It’s unfortunate," coach Mike McCarthy said. "He toughed it out. Just to play through the game the way he did was a real credit to him. It’s unfortunate, and that’s where we are. We have history with Taybor Pepper. That’s the way we’ll move forward as we get ready for Chicago."

If Goode had not been able to finish the game, McCarthy said tight end Richard Rodgers would have been the long snapper.

Coach Mike McCarthy might have to go through the Green Bay Packers locker room and start soliciting volunteers to play tackle because, three weeks into the season, his top five are injured.

It’s unclear who will be available Thursday night when the Packers host the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

But the two guys who started at tackle Sunday against Cincinnati — Bryan Bulaga and Kyle Murphy — both were on the injury report as non-participants in practice Monday. Their status was an estimation because the Packers won’t actually practice until Tuesday, but it’s a pretty good sign that both are banged up.

In his first start of the season, Bulaga aggravated the right ankle injury that had sidelined him the first two games, although it was not clear if he re-injured it on a specific play. He dropped out of the game in the fourth quarter and was seen on the sideline testing it, but he did not return.

Justin McCray filled in for Bulaga and would be the starter if the veteran were not able to play against the Bears.

But the Packers might have even bigger problems at left tackle. Kyle Murphy started for a second straight week in place of David Bakhtiari (hamstring) and made it through the entire game. But he was listed on the injury report with a foot injury and his status for the Bears is up in the air.

McCarthy has yet to have Bakhtiari and Bulaga on the field at the same time and it has showed. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 13 times in three games, the most of anyone in the NFL this season.

First down
One of the reasons defensive coordinator Dom Capers could go with Josh Jones playing in the front seven of a new nitro package Sunday was safety Marwin Evans. Though starting safety Kentrell Brice (groin) didn’t play, Capers was able to use Jones and Morgan Burnett as linebackers/slot corners in the nitro because Evans is good enough to start at deep safety across from Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. If Evans wasn't capable, then either Burnett or Jones would have had to play deep, and in fact that’s what happened when Evans left the game briefly because of cramping. Burnett then moved back to safety, and cornerback Quinten Rollins came in to play the slot. Evans didn’t have a big day statistically (four tackles, no other stats) but the undrafted second-year pro is a reliable player with plenty of talent. Who knows? If Brice misses another game or two, he might have trouble getting his job back.

Official as of today. Murphy in IR:
http://www.packersnews.com/story/sp...ckles-after-putting-kyle-murphy-ir/704852001/
On Tuesday, the Packers placed Kyle Murphy, a starter at right tackle in the season opener against Seattle and a starter at left tackle against Atlanta and Cincinnati, on injured reserve because of a foot injury.

Murphy is the third player capable of playing tackle that the Packers have placed on injured reserve, joining Don Barclay (ankle) and Jason Spriggs (hamstring). Barclay will be available for return after Week 8, Spriggs after Week 10 and Murphy after Week 11.

The Packers can bring back only two players from injured reserve, according to NFL rules.

I guess Spriggs and/or Murphy will be back. They're better than Barclay.

Hopefully he stays healthy unlikey Casey did after his rookie season.

Then hopefully TT doesn't let him walk into free agency and draft and start unproven cornerbacks again

Or we get John Dorsey to comeback and replace TT. And TT slides into just being a consultant/scout :win:

:whoa: we don't need that...

TT is better than most GMs... its just we now know the team that was around him was the real reason we got that Super Bowl team. McKenzie, Dorsey, Schneider all now or were GMs of talented playoff teams.

Whether its young Wolf or Dorsey, the guys they get around them will be what makes this roster back into SB form. I think Dorsey has a higher chance of bringing over all these dudes from KC front office.

Another win, but boy did we pay for it with even more injuries. I swear this team is cursed. And what a brutal, bullshyt hit on Adams. Thank God he's got movement in all his extremities. How that clown didn't get ejected, I'll never know. I'm sure his wallet will be a lot lighter, and he'll be sitting for a bit. I know this is football, but hunting for hits like that is just wrong. No place for that on the field.

Anyways, offense was fine. Rodgers was on point, but it looked like MM adjusted the playbook with the patchwork line (and shoutout to them...they did ok for the most part). Funny thing is, he should be calling alot of those quick hitters with our healthy offense, instead of always going for big plays. Defense did fine too, but that wasn't exactly an explosive offense. Looks like Damarious got straight benched after giving up that TD before the half, then wasn't even on the bench late. Will be worth monitoring that. Also convenient how Blake Martinez was cleared of the concussion protocol at the same exact time Joe Thomas got hurt. Got a big play from CM3 that we've sorely missed.

Whatever. Brutal injury luck, but we got that W and that's all that matters.

3-1, we go to Dallas two sundays from now. #GoPackGo
