Season 2 of the Wire is underrated as f*ck. (Spoilers)

Ya'll lucky we hated on season 2 so much back when it first aired. The backlash forced them to switch it up again.
That forced the producers to pivot back to Avon and them and later to Marlo.
If we had talked about it the way ya'll talking about it this thread, season 2 thru 5 would've been all Ziggy shyt.
Season 2 wasn't terrible but it removed the best parts about the series.

I don’t know why people skip this season. It’s essential to the whole point of the show. It’s a damn good season.

Not my favorite season but it’s brilliant and necessary for the series to be appreciated as a whole. It’s a very subtle way of saying “hey, while all y’all making demons out of these black men selling drugs in the hood look at what’s happening with these ‘blue collar’ white boys”. The game is the game. Also was the key link in establishing why good police work is hardly ever done in major cities. Valchek started all of that mess because he was mad over a church window.

Its probably the most important season and most analogous with what goes on in America.

How can you not see the links between season 2 and something like January 6th in that the most powerful walk away and leave the mess for regular joes.

shyt, they gave the bag away when the DOJ prosecutors were gleeful about destroying the union. That's America. How people don't like this season and don't see these parallels with what's going on in our lives, I will never get it.
