Why are you hugging his nuts so desperately? Yes most people who ran a Label raped their artists, that is common knowledge. The fact that others did it too is not an excuse :yeshrug:
Show me anything of that sort? Giving accurate details to a b*stardized story is not nut hugging. Do you understand what standard business is. Nobody made any excuses. You dudes struggle with comprehension. In case you don't get it. That was the business. He didn't invent or reinvent contracts. Maybe remixes according to him but not standard music industry contracts.

Before the digital era and tech advancing music making and distribution. Running a label required up front investments and new artists had no leverage to get anymore than they got because they had to show and prove. Acting like children and refusing to understand business and how it works does not benefit you. If the business was inherently unfair or predatory then don't participate.

Fact remains i you told you upfront that he had reverted the rights to his artists ahead of schedule and furthermore refused to sell them. He didn't have to do any of that. He didn't have to give mase his shyt back or the lox either. Yet despite all that fact checking you went the retard route talking about nut hugging. It's embarrassing. Dude is going beyond what he has to do and you the one who's on his dikk still talking the same old retarded misinformed shyt. Alternatively they could have not got signed at all. Nobody was going to give them better deals. That's why west coast/southern artists went the route they did with independence. Know the game or keep bytching for an eternity.

Jay had leverage when he signed to def jam and still had to buy his contract out at the end for 5 million. Had leverage with his first album self distributed and still had to break off dame and Biggs. A billionaire and doesn't have his full masters back. Being idealistic not caring to learn about the topic you discuss but you still want to have opinions. Sounds like hoe bable to me

By that logic everyone that ever ran a label was a rapist. shyt retarded. And this is coming from wage workers who get a fraction of what they generate corporations. Was Diddy suppose to start a revolution or run a business?

Not picking fakkit.

Corny hot takes from clowns. He gave their rights earlier than legally required. He refused to sell the parts of their rights he owned to these companies that have been buying up music catalogues for millions so he could give them back.

Y'all dudes been enjoying running with lame narratives about this man and other successful Black men being devils and fags when in reality they just regular business men. Nothing he did was rape. Nothing. Standard business contracts. Just because a breh didn't reinvent the way music business is done he's all types of shyt. Even when he is making amends you dudes still hating. Loser shyt
Dude THIS is NOT the hill you want to die on when it comes to Puffy.

Are they worth anything now? :lupe: I'm to trying out if it's like eating someone's cake and giving them the icing left on the plate.

Rape is not voluntary. Taking unfavorable deals is not getting raped. If the industry was built like that and you had to play ball to be an artist and you participated knowing that you are no different than a wage employee getting minimum for their contributions. Those who could opted to put their money up. And even then like I said people like Jay still signed standard contracts after. Why? They needed to play with label budgets and use their bankroll. Same with Slim thug and every independent self made rapper that went for a contract after the fact. Bob Marley kids still haven't got his rights back and he died in 82. His contractual obligations were the same as everyone else 35 years. And the labels refused to revert the rights back. Now that's rape.

My first thought would be to shoot some videos for old songs / deep cuts. Mase has a decent bit of momentum with his sports show, and now this, he could put something together. Harlem World 30th anniversary is* in a few years.

Oh I see.
Artists are never manipulated or strong armed into unfair and bad deals.

They all just willingly went into these agreements and everything is fine.

Interesting take.
