No animal is clean, at allMi nuh how people willingly nyam shyt, cyaan dweet, all of that gotta get scraped out
It is never impractical to clean some food you servin' to other people. What type e.coli-infested chow down y'all goin' to where it's considered rude to clean your shrimp at the table after it's been cooked in its own waste? It’s impractical to expect them to clean the shrimp in such high numbers; so what do you do?
Would it be rude of me to clean my shrimp at the table? I genuinely don’t feel comfortable eating it with the poop in the back.
If I’m around white ppl, I’m cleaning my shrimp at the table cos IDGAF about them. But I really don’t want to offend anyone’s family that may be hosting if that’s how they eat it.
Wait what? Not shrimp, but I hate when fried oysters aren’t cleaned out and they have the plankton still in there
For shrimp, devein the big ones, eat the little ones
It don't take that longWho the fukk is boiling shrimp already peeled? If you don't want to eat it then spend hours at the table cleaning that shyt out if you want to
Funnily enough I grew up calling it CRAYfish but started calling it crawfish when I got older. The fukk is Crawfish???
Whom? Moi. Everytime I get called white on here it cracks me up.White spy.
From what I’ve seen they cook large vats of shrimp with the shell on. Whilst it’s possible to clean it with the shell on; for a home cook it’s highly impractical in such large amounts. The crux of the argument is this. I’m going to meet my bf’s family for the first time and I’m not from the US. I just don’t want to have an expectation of something then be visibly uncomfortable when it doesn’t happen. So I’m trying to prepare myself by trying to understand what the cultural norms are.Seafood boil etiquette: do ya’ll eat the poop?
Fact you really gotta ask with these two words and phrases together...
I mean like ayo, what in the entire fukk y'all thinkin' 'bout? Is it etiquette to eat the poop? No... then:
It is never impractical to clean some food you servin' to other people. What type e.coli-infested chow down y'all goin' to where it's considered rude to clean your shrimp at the table after it's been cooked in its own waste?
I mean... where they do that? But if it's the white folks, you cleanin' ya shrimp?
But you don't wanna offend anybody family offendin' you servin' you an e.coli-invested seafood boil?
What happened to prep time?
What happened to hospitality?
Where the decency? Like... is this a serious question or y'all just fukkin' 'round on a Wednesday?
You cleanin' dirty seafood in front of white folks because you don't care, but you care enough to not offend somebody family servin' dookie guts to you on the humble like.... like it's just somethin' you supposed to accept? You wouldn't eat dookied-up chitlins, but you gone let it slide on a seafood boil? So we just eatin' shyt in 2025 'cause we wanna practice etiquette?
Yo... lemme get these Blck N' Mlds and get on...
If the shrimp mushyI devein shrimp if they are boiled well and not mushy. If the boil is fukked up and they are hard to peel and mushy its too much work to devein, I'll just eat it.
but crawfish I dont bother....
