As long as it gets good word-of-mouth I could see this game being big for a long time. Seems like the type of game to blow up like minecraft or destiny.

I just cannot fukk with cartoonish themes for a long time. if it's fun for my children, I would play along like I did with Minecraft - Which I became temporarily addicted to, admittedly.
But, I couldn't see me and my squad of brehs on this shyt for a whole night.

Like, for instance, I have to be severely pressured to play Fortnite. PUBG, much more tolerable...and it only has to do w/ the surface graphics.

I'm saying, personally, I can't seem to allow myself to feel immersed and feel competitive in a cartoonish looking game.

Like I said in another thread, I think this game is going to do crazy numbers and will be critically acclaimed. I haven't played it. Just going off a hunch.
Yeah people are gonna love to stream and watch streams of people playing this, so much fukkery to be had.
What I will say about the game is, it's not the destination, it's the journey.
In most games quests are simply walk to the spot on the map and do whatever task is there. In SOT you get a real map, a boat and a compass and you gotta figure out first where to go, but also how to get there. Then you gotta go with all the other pirate crews doing what pirates do. Never really played anything like it. If they can keep content coming, I could see people playing this for a long time

Would love to play but I generally stay away from online multiplayer only games. I don't really have friends I game with. You can't play alone, correct?
Yeah you can play alone.
I'm the same as you, I don't usually like multiplayer centered or MMO games.
But with this one you are able to jump in by yourself and have a good time.
I never started with a crew, but I always found some fukkery.
Don't even have a headset, though I'll probably by one just for this game cause there were some moments where I wish I did.
