Cuomo was a huge scumbag and his ousting deserved even bigger celebrations.

Nobody was clamoring for Katy Hochul when trying to get rid of Cuomo, as evidenced by the election numbers. She was able to consolidate power because it was more beneficial for Letitia James' career to continue investigating Trump.

There are no term limits for governor in NY.

New Yorkers are better off now because Cuomo would've had enough political power to bully the state senate into electing his judge.

Hochul on the other hand doesn't have nearly enough juice to pull it off. Hence why Higher Learning darling Hakeem Jeffries has to do the heavy lifting of fighting for a right-wing, racist, anti-union judge on her behalf.

I stand corected. I thought there was a strong push for term limits during Cuomo's last term that were intensified during his scandal. Looks like it didn't pass and Hochul is pushing for them again.:obama:

The rest however is a bit of a strawman. My argument is t that people were clamoring for Hochul. In fact it's the opposite, that folks didn't want Hochul, but allowing her to take power in the wake of #MeToo with popular legislation waiting to be signed allowed her to consolidate power.

Suggesting hochul doesn’t have power when she easily won her primary (85%) and has the backing of top congressional dems is either willful ignorance or being a dumbass.

Nothing you’ve said has refuted the original statement you took offense to, that the glee following Cuomos ouster didn’t lead to better politics in nyc.
