Its over for a chance at a real liberal and progressive dem candidate- at most we'll get a neoliberal who pushes random fringe politics, but doesn't mess up the money and doesn't avoid the War machine.
So it will always be close. The middle voters would love to have someone like NYC gov rather than having to vote for a southern redneck or someone like trump.

After listening to this I feel that Cuomo was being genuine. Was he wrong for trying to talk to someone that works him? Yes, but it sounds like he was kicking old school game but she wasn't with it.
Maybe, maybe not. If the Dems can successfully frame the 2024 GOP candidate as a boogeyman they can whip up votes no problem like in the 2020 election.
Although that still wouldn't quite work. If Coronavirus didn't happen or happened a year later or earlier Trump would likely be a 2 term president considering the EC result came down to 44K votes between 3-4 states.
So perhaps you're right, Ultimately I couldn't imagine Cuomo winning against a populist republican.
