Being the second best player on Jordan's Bulls is not an insult. If he gets traded in his prime, he's the best player on 95 percent of teams. If he doesn't sit out that game or pull the migraine his legacy doesn't take a hit.

Nothing wrong with being a sidekick in a championship winning team.

Pippen is one of the goats.

Pippen won 60 games and went 7 against the Eastern conference champs in his first season without Jordan. The Bulls replaced Jordan with Pete Myers and the Bulls were still a couple of calls away from advancing to the ECF and likely the finals. Replace Jordan with an all-star SG like Drexler or Miller and the Bulls win a championship.

The same thing happened with a washed up Wade in 2016. Took the Raptors to seven games in the ECSF with no Chris Bosh or Whiteside (from Gm 3 onwards).

Replace LeBron with an all-star SF like KD, Melo or even Rudy Gay during the prime Heatles year and they still win at least 2.

Not even close to the same thing. The Heat failed to make the playoffs the season after Lebron left. The next season they made the playoffs because of a balanced attack with players that weren't even on the team during the Heatles years. Wade, Bosh for 53 games, Goran Dragic, Luol Deng, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson, Hassan Whiteside, Joe Johnson after the trade deadline-- all contributed to that team making the playoffs. The Heat lost to a Raptors team that got swept the year before by the Wizards and then lost decidedly to the Cavs after they beat the Heat.

The Bulls in 1994 won 55 games and were a few calls away from beating the team that won the East with Pete Myers replacing Jordan and rookie Toni Kukoc being the only other significant addition. Replace Jordan with an all-star SG and they're winning a championship. The Bulls were a championship level team without Jordan, the Heat were not without Lebron.

I doubt any of those players win two championships with Bosh missing consecutive playoff series in 2012 or Wade averaging 15 PPG in 2013 because of bad knees.

Those were a bunch of roleplayers and a washed up Wade managed to only lose one less game to the Raptors than LeBron did that very same postseason, and that was without a Kyrie or Kevin Love to assist him in his efforts.

If you’re going to shyt on MJ for Pippen making it to the 2nd round without him in his prime (and then almost getting shipped out the next year because of how poor the Bulls looked without Horace), then just make sure you do the same for LeBron because Wade wasn’t anywhere near his prime in 2016 and only missed out on the ECF because he didn’t have his two next best players.

Not the same situation at all. The Heat missed the playoffs the season after Lebron left and came back with a whole new squad.. And yet they still weren't legitimate contenders to win the East and neither were the Raptors team that beat them.. It's not like they lost to the Cavs to 7, they lost to a team that had no chance at winning the East. The Cavs beat the Raptors by an average margin of 38 points in the four games they won.

The Bulls were virtually the same exact team with the only real difference being some guy who was playing in Italy the season prior replacing Jordan.. and yet they still won 55 games and were a game away from beating the team that eventually won the East.

Pippen should be happy he got to share the court with MJ. Perfect tandem that dominated for years. If Pippen would have never been traded from Seattle to join forces with MJ what would his career have looked like? Just another good/great player who never won shyt :ld:

the bulls had 2 other all stars groupie + they also added kukoc who made an instant impact , the bulls went 4-6 without pippen that season they were NOT a championship team without Jordan they were an overachieving regular season team. They lost to a team they had beaten the previous 4 times in the playoffs

wade did the exact same thing without Lebron foh

I agree Scottie was a great player in his own right, he proved it in the time he played without Jordan, hell he proved it in the time post Jordan. The thing is Pippen is the ultimate team player, a lot of times he sacrificed stats in order to do what needed to be done within the flow of the offense. With that said, I think it's difficult for any player feel like he shined under the looming shadow that is Michael Jordan.

Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, Bill Wennington weren't new additions to the team:unimpressed:

How is a team "virtually the exact same team" with five new guys that were key role players:unimpressed:
