Somewhat but it's all on what you prefer. Lucha Libre is more of chaotic fukkery without no boundaries (more emphasis on high flying moves and hardcore matches). Meanwhile, Japanese wrestling is more slow burn leading to a hard hitting match. Both styles do co-exists along with having joined shows (ala Fantasica mania). Beyond that, it's all on your preference. Me on the other hand, I watch Lucha Libre from time to time but find myself just not digging it. Majority of the lucha shows are a fukking mess and leaving me confused
. They treat wrestling like "you know the shyt is fake but if you take off the mask..it's your ass".
If you like that fast paced type of wrestling ,you may need to hit up Dragon Gate. I remember checking out some of their matches and damn near got motion sickness
. Five minutes in the match is over.
. Beyond that, it's a fun promotion if you want fast and furious type of matches with rhyme and reason. One event they usually do is called Dead or Alive which is like Wargames, but with different factions. The loser ends up losing their mask or hair, in some instances the faction would have to break up. 
Dope ass match but I don't see myself paying 15 bones for that service, especially with them taking the shows down after a month or some shyt.
