Not really because it’d be revisionist history in acting like the narratives and slander didn’t exist about Herro prior.

They’d still essentially be in the same situation that they’re in now as there was no way that Jrue was still going to be on that roster and Herro would have been another guard and created more logjam.

narratives and slander don't represent truth. Herro was, and is proving this season, he is an All-Star caliber guard. His main problem was untimely injuries during Miami playoff runs. They would AT LEAST have a watchable on court product with a potential star in the middle of his prime. Now they have to rebuild again. No team with a top 5 lottery pick should be looking to rebuild a year after drafting the guy they salivated over.

That's my point though. THIS SEASON.

He's changing the narrative about him NOW, but it's disingenuous to pretend like the narrative wasn't there previously when they tried many times to move him to no avail. He would have been off that roster and traded years ago if Miami had the offer to do it.

And I'm telling you the narrative was wrong - Herro has shown this level of play before.

People forget how historically ass Ant was to start out his career and how he eventually figured it out.

Sometimes it's too early to write young guards off.

Anthony Edwards avg 20 points per game as a rookie

Scoot is trash a 4 game sample shooting 53 percent from three isn't sustainable

Look at those shooting splits for Ant that first half of the season and come back. It was a reason why he didn’t win ROY even with his 2nd half performance.

Any progress is better than where he was previously.
