im not sure how accurate this is but we would probably all die out sooner from spreading uncurable mutation sickenesses than taking minerals from the earth which has alot more mass than all humans put together, also i am not islamic and i am not crucifying all scienctists(Dr. Abouheif is a muslim biologist) but i think you might have missed the part in the article that mentions this technique he found to be used on crop plants to increase nutritional value(GMO product) and also that the "crazy growth" of cancer is possibly "hidden ancestreal" potential so i dont think i am reaching at all here friend, please read carefully so we do not make these mistakes in the future

Also, I believe the point is that ancestral traits can be unlocked to benefit difference species, including humans.

I don't think the motivation would be to develop deadly forms of viruses and diseases, like cancer.... for two reasons. 1) We already know how to do that. 2) they wouldn't be advertising it like this.
