No it was not as easy as it is today to find firearms and learn effective economical use. You can find guns on craigslist FFS, Klebold and Harris spent months and had to buy their firearms illegally through secondary channels.

You can buy an AR-15 full assembly kit off any number of easy to use websites now, and learn basic firearms handling from just a few quick youtube videos. While the Columbine shooters took weeks of constant training and practice.

It's FAR easier to get guns today than it was 2 decades ago or a decade ago. 10 people are dead this is already one of the deadliest shootings in history.

Does mental health play a part? No shyt, sane people don't murder 10+ people. But to dismiss the role of guns and how much easier it is to acquire them now more than ever is just absurd, you can have weapon kits delivered right to your doorstep.

You don't even need a firearms license to purchase antique firearms, they're considered collectors items. And those will kill just as well as any other handgun these psychopaths are using.
