Should dump all the problematic kids. Let whoever came to school learn learn. Take out the distractions.

Alternatively you give them the space to do nothing and let others learn. The ones who chose not to need to not graduate and go find out life is not a game. Either way it's getting to a time where people must understand not everyone will be saved. Teachers pick up where the parents left off they don't work miracles.

Lower the legal age from 18 to 17 for punishment. The juniors and seniors at that point would probably set better examples.

A 17 year old "kid" don't make any sense.

A lot of these bad "kids" shape up the second they hit 18 not because they're "so much more mature" than 1 or 2 years ago, but because the law's kid gloves are off and they know play time is over.

These kids are online on social media interacting with adults all the time and think they're grown, then ok.
You feel older than your age? Well let's give you that privilege then starting at 17.

My girl is a Teacher, when she tells me horror stories about Horrible kids I just say "EXPEL THEM!"

She tells me they can't legally do that anymore, kids can only be out of school like 3 days tops.

:yeshrug:

What state yall in?

The only limitations in GA punishment wise is that they can’t be suspended more than 10 days throughout the year. But we have a way around that…we’ll just call parents and tell them to come get their child when they do something extreme & to keep them home for a couple days

The problematic kids should be removed and placed in remedial schools. No sports, no extra curriculars, just straight schooling. The only way to get out is to test out on grade level with good behavior. You can act up all you want but you wont be allowed to the mainline school until you test out.

Good students wont have to suffer and the bad kids can still “be in school”.

Florida.Just talked to her again about it and she says it's a numbers game, the school gets money the more kids they got in school so they ain't trying to mess up the Bag. Certain amount of kids on certain days of the month means more money.

Yea and by limiting the days kids can get suspended, the school’s discipline record looks good. Its a dirty game out here

Black Self-Sufficiency
My wife has been a teacher for over 21 years, and a school librarian for about 3 now. She has seen it go downhill here in Hampton Roads and does not see a solution being enacted anytime soon. Having bodies in the seats and receiving funds is far more important to the school administrations than making sure the children are educated with the necessities (Reading Comprehension, Writing & Grammar, and Arithmetic).

The problem is a Triad. The parents, the teachers, and the administrators. All three are not doing their jobs effectively, and the children suffer for it.

School is 61% black. Has there ever been a time when black folks weren't the majority where the national guard was called in to assist monitoring a school post 1980 :jbhmm:
