Caught the og version on cinemax one night shyt was ill...Imakes it even that much crazier how they made the 80s version completely different while staying true to the original to a point.

Flash forward to today where all we will get is a straight shot for shot remake but with some insane stupid twist to a character watch Tony be a closet homo instead of secretly wanting to sex his sister deep down.

:snoop:

Naw they can easily make a good updated remake of scarface. Gang culture could be a big focal point . The 83 scarface is a product Of its time can it be topped idk but it can be matched if its taken serious and not as a cash grab you overreacting guys are almost as bad as studios. Everything isn't some sacred cow that can never be touched long as a movie is executed well . Like robocop isn't the greatest movie I like it but the problem I have with the remake is it soy sounds like its bad :damn: pretty much any movie can be remade if the creatures have something new to say.
The real problem is there has been so many similar stories of small timer grows into big timer they need a really good lead to bring something new and charismatic .

Carlito's Way Rise to Power 1 trailer - YouTube

i remember a couple of years ago they was talkin about doing a part 2 to scarface with the plot line that michelle phifier character was prego and she had a son ( the rapper cuban link ) who was going to follow in his pops footsteps :deadhorse:

Seen the original (instant classic in my opinion). Is the "prequel" no good?

Scarface was an idiot and at the end of the day he was a douja. Drug lord getting sent on hitman runs. Sosa told him a long time ago not to fukk him, Tony didnt listen. I was glad when Tony got sprayed. They should have made a SOSA movie. Would have been great seeing him having dinner with his family and stepping away to quickly give the order to have Tony killed and then tell him that he was going to kill him before happily sitting back at the dinner table with his family. Tony was powerless.

Were you even alive back then, man? It's not about me. The way it was. Scarface got big later in retrospect..it wasn't some legendary film in the 80s. LOL.

Legendary back in 1990? No it wasn't:laugh: It turned into that as the 90s rolled and hip hop culture was drawn to it.

Yes it was...where the fukk were you? Most people I grew up wit in the 80s knew Scarface front-to-back and I saw it as a kid. It was very popular in Cali/LA. You silly if you think it only got popular cuz of hip-hop:heh:

Nah..it's not about what rappers say. That's when it got glamorized...and Scarface wasn't no Oscar nominated level flick. It became cult like later. You're making up a history that doesn't exist. LOL.

 Yeah right...shyt wasn't no phenom back in the 80s:laugh:

Pacino's "Scarface" was a remake. And some would argue that Paul Muni's "Scarface" was superior (although I'm not one of those people).

That being said, this story doesn't need to be retold for a third time. It's time for Hollywood to get original.
