The singer is after a part in a remake of her favourite film Scarface.

She wants the role of hard-partying Elvira Hancock, originally played by Michelle Pfeiffer, who she has described as having “ridiculous swagger”.

Universal Pictures are developing a new take on the Al Pacino classic, with a Tony Montana-style drug dealer in the 21st Century.

They could do it, use Tijuana, or Culican, instead of Cuba, but do it with a level of realism and dignity, forget the 80's excess, something like 'Miami Vice' (2006), and 'Traffic', plus 'Scarface'. Rihanna is a damn druggie lol, I'd do lines with her if I still fukked with it. 'Scarface' is badly dated anyway, but I doubt an update would be better, probably make it like 'Bad Boys 2' or something.

To me, Scarface works and I wouldn't be opposed to a remake if the right people were behind it.

First, the 83 Scarface wasn't that great. Had some great moments and I'll watch it when it's on, but really, the film had its flaws.

And the 83 Scarface was a remake. Both films dealt with the rise and fall gangsters of that time period.

The first came out in the 30's, the main character was based on Capone and the main character was a bootlegger in Chicago.

Pacino's character was a Cuban immigrant that became a druglord in Miami.

Like re'up said, if it was set in Mexico that had the main character in a cartel, that would work.

I see what ur saying but to be honest. Hollywood has ran out of ideas when it comes to movies. Maybe its nostalgia but I just miss the 90's with Goodfellas and casino. Or boys in the hood and menace 2 society/juice. Now a days its nerdy comedies and cheap thrillers. And weak as romantic movies. Too many sequels and remakes. Not enough innovative shyt. The independent and foreign movies are better.
